Giggling with all the innocence in the world, the young girl thought she was being awful sneaky. She peered out once more from behind the tree, she decided now was the time to strike, she went barreling towards to poor Donkey, jumping onto his back. "Surprise!" she giggled, moving to hug him around his neck while still laying on his back.
After letting out a startled grunt, the donkey sighed. "Oh, Evelyn. It's just you."
"Didja miss me Eyeore?" she asked, smiling widely despite the fact that she was missing a few teeth. "Because I know I missed all of you. School is so dreadfully dull. 'Cept for literacy! That where I learn to read and write." she explained, before climbing off his back.
"Well, I'm not sure about Eyeore," came a matronly voice. "But I know someone who missed you awfully."
Kanga didn't even get to blink before her son was happily bouncing over to the girl. "Evelyn!" Roo cried happily.
"Hallo, Roo!" Evelyn replied smiling. "I missed you too. I wish I could just stay here. The Hundred Acre Woods is so much more exciting than boring old school."
Kanga, who had now moved behind the young girl, put a paw on her shoulder. "Now dear, you know that school is important. And you can still come play with us when you get home everyday."
"I know." Evelyn pouted "But it's just not the same."
"But when you go to school, you can teach lots of cool things! Like yesterday when you told me why apples have seeds!" Roo insisted.
Evelyn paused. The girl had never thought of it that way. "I suppose you're right. Maybe school isn't so bad..."
