It was late at night in an open field. There was a somewhat surreal feel to the world around Chris. It all seemed perfectly natural to him as if he belonged there, but he didn't. He didn't recognize the town he was in. A large strobe light turns on, and circles around the fields. Chris starts running, attempting to hide from the blinding light. Looking up, they were several police helicopters up there, obviously looking for him. A couple of police cars also skimmed across the fields. Chris kept running and running. He knew what was happening. He knew why they were looking for him.

They knew what he was.

"Stop right there! Get on the ground!", a megaphone sounds from one of the police cars. The strobe lights turn to Chris. He knew he was dead.

"Don't even think about running", another officer holding what appeared to be a crossbow which had a stake attached to it, spoke aloud. Two other police cars surrounded Chris, preventing him from escaping. In fear of being murdered, Chris lied down on the ground. Two police officers walked over to him, and aimed their weapons at him.

"If he tries to run, shoot him. Aim for the heart, that should kill him", the deputy could be heard speaking to the other officers. Chris's breath was not steady, in fact, his heart was beating very quickly. He knew he was about to die.

"D-don't kill me...", Chris began.

"Shut up, bloodsucker!", an officer yelled at Chris.

Another police car drove up to the hill, and three officers got out of the car, carrying the same weapons the others held,

The deputy walked over to Chris, and tied up his arms using a rope.

"You can talk now, Chris Whiteman. Give me one reason I shouldn't kill you", the deputy spoke.

Chris was in a loss of words. He knew he didn't deserve to die and that it was unfair, but it wasn't in the eyes of the deputy. He knew that everything he said would be thrown back at him. He finally decided to say something.

"I'm not a killer-", Chris began.

"Oh, really? You use that excuse? You have to drink blood to survive. That usually involves killing people. It's the same thing as saying cats don't kill mice when they find one. It's crap", the deputy spoke.

"I was once a human-", Chris spoke.

"Yeah, about that. All vampires were once human, so don't give me that excuse"

"L-look! I don't deserve to die. I have a family, and friends! Look, this isn't fair-"

"Yeah, all killers need to die. Oh, and I already informed your parents of what happened to you. I told them you tried to run away, and you were shot".

"Oh, you sick bastard!"

"I'm sorry Chris, but this must be done".

The officers picked up Chris's body, and moved him into the trunk of a police car. The remaining cars drove away into the distance.

Chris woke up inside a sort of cell. There was a video camera pointed towards him. As Chris looked around, he realized the walls were green. He was also wearing different clothing. He was wearing a prison inmate outfit.

"H-hello?", Chris asked. Chris looked to his surrounding cells, and saw they were filled with dead bodies. Bodies of other vampires. Chris tries to break free, but fails. Several officers enter the cell, aiming their weapons at Chris.

"That isn't gonna work", one of the officers told Chris.

A camera operator walks over to the video camera, and presses the record button. .

A beeping noise can be heard from the camera. "And... we're live", the cameraman spoke.

"Some of you may recognize this person. His name is Christopher Whiteman. We caught him last night trying to escape from search parties. An anonymous tip was given out stating that Chris was a vampire, and the tip seems to be true.", The cameraman spoke.

"Here, we have an officer which is going to put a mirror behind Chris", the cameraman spoke. A police officer put a small mirror behind Chris, which obviously didn't show his reflection because... he was a vampire.

"Chris... Do you have anything to say to us?", the cameraman asked Chris.

"Yeah. I deserve to live. I didn't choose to be like this. I wanted to be normal, and this person ruined my life and turned me into a monster. This isn't my fault. Just please, don't do this. I don't deserve this.", Chris said. A police officer walks behind Chris.

"Chris. You are a monster. A monster with a human's memories. You really aren't Chris. That's why you need to die". The officer plunges a wooden stake through his heart. Blood comes pouring out of Chris's mouth, as his body crumples to the ground.
