The Monster Within
Nico di Angelo was dead inside.
The monster he had was growing wide.
It drained his powers day after day,
And was made by his mind and would have to stay.
The monster inside was his best and only friend.
It somehow made the pain mend.
He knew it was the best thing that ever happened,
And he never once caught it napping.
It stuck with him since his sister's death,
And it never once left.
He knew the monster inside was his best friend,
And he knew from the start it was going to be his end.
It killed his pain but went against his will,
For one day he knew it was going to kill.
Its first victim was him,
The boy who lost too much to sin.
