Phil's POV:
I woke up covered in sweat, and tangled uncomfortably in my sheets. I was panting and genuinely terrified by the nightmares that had been invading my sleep for the past week or so. I glanced up at the clock next to my bed to see it read 2:30 am. I groaned. I usually woke up at at least 4:30 am which was closer to a somewhat reasonable time to wake up. If I woke up for good now I would be sluggish all day and people would question me. I sighed and got up trying to decide what to do. I knew if I went to go see my brother - and best friend - Dan I might get back to sleep. It was a might, but I was tired enough to not care about bothering him. I stealthily slid out of my room and went across the hall to find the door to Dan's room open. I exhaled and peeked in. He wasn't in there as I suspected. I rolled my eyes and navigated my way down the stairs. He was draped across the couch on his laptop with his fingers drumming on the trackpad. He glanced up at me and smiled.

"Hey, Phil." He called over to me as I rubbed the sleep at of my eyes with my fists.

Dan's POV:
Phil walked into the living room with drooping eye lids, pouty lips, and one of my old sweatshirts on that hung past his knees. He was looking overall sleepy and adorable. I pushed my laptop onto the ground and stood up reaching my arms out to him. He fell into my hold and he yawned as I picked him up.

"Having trouble sleeping?" I chuckled into his ear. He wrapped his legs around my waist and nodded. He hid his face in my neck and grabbed fistfuls of my shirt.

"I-I had a nightmare." He whimpered barley audible into my chest.
"Aw Philly," I mumbled kissing his hair lightly. "Do you want to sleep in my bed tonight?" I offered pulling him closer to me by the backs of his legs. He looked up biting his lip and blushing softly.

"Yes please." He whispered finally meeting my gaze with pleading eyes.

"Let's go then," I muttered carrying him up the stairs careful not to wake our parents. I layed him down under my blankets then left to the bathroom to change into my pajamas. I came back into my room to Phil clutching his knees to his chest and a few tears slipping form his perfect blue eyes. I quickly joined him and pulled him into my lap. I cradled him to my chest and wiped the tears from his cheeks. "It's ok sweet." I murmured to him rubbing his back.

"I'm sorry Dan, but I closed my eyes for just a bit and all the nightmares came back." Phil stuttered out as the tears stopped.

"There's no reason to apologize Philly," I assured him. I pulled the blankets around us and hummed a song in his ear trying to soothe him. I linked my fingers behind his back, and let his rising and falling chest soothe me. I heard his breathing slow, and I was completely relieved I was able to comfort Phil into sleep. I hoped he would come to me anytime he needed my help. "I love you Phil." I breathed into his hair. I fell into a deep sleep next to him, warm and content.
