Tsuna sighed. In a few days, his life as a normal middle schooler would vanish. In a few days, he'd be a high schooler. He sighed again. After all he'd been through with his friends, all the crazy that started happening during his first year of middle school, and all the adventures that came with it, he couldn't just let it end. He knew that if he didn't accept being Vongola Decimo before he started high school, then all the fun times he'd had with his friends, all those memories, would mean nothing. He'd be treated like a civilian who just happened to know all about the mafia. He'd have no connections to the Vongola, or any mafia family, really, but he'd also no longer be able to talk to his friends about it. He'd be forced to keep it all to himself or risk suffering the consequences. For the third time, Tsuna sighed. He knew what he had to do. He knew it was the right thing.
In a few days, he'd be a high schooler, but that wouldn't be all he was. He'd be Vongola Decimo, the high school mafia boss.
"Reborn! Where are you?" Tsuna called, sitting at his desk in his bedroom, chair turned so it was facing the room.
Suddenly Reborn was in his room right in front of him, startling him. "Ciaosu~" he said with a slightly smug grin. He loved doing that.
After Tsuna regained his composer, he looked Reborn straight in the eye, something the old Tsuna would never do, and by old Tsuna, I mean Tsuna from two minutes ago.
"I'll do it," he said, voice barely quivering.
Confused, Reborn asked, "Huh? What do you mean, you'll do it?"
"I mean I'll accept the role of Vongola Decimo," Tsuna clarified, still looking Reborn in the eyes.
Reborn was looking right back at Tsuna. He had been startled when Tsuna looked him straight in the eyes, but now he saw the determination in Tsuna's eyes, a look that actually fitted the boy. Reborn smiled at what Tsuna had said. "Glad to hear you're on board."
Tsuna let a small smile escape, something else Reborn didn't expect. Oh well, it didn't matter now anyways.
The tenth Vongola boss had just claimed his title. Now to make it official.
Hello! This is one of my stories from Wattpad, the only one that's actually complete. Over on Wattpad, my username is AshtheAmazingMerlin and I have a few fanfictions over there that won't be published here, and vice versa, but there will be a few that I'll publish on both sites, Freeborn! being the first. I hope you enjoyed the rather short first chapter, but don't worry, the chapters get longer.
Also, certain events in both Free! and Reborn! never happened, while others were changed significantly. I won't tell you which ones at the moment, just know they are different.
