Taihou was sitting at her desk in Admiral Serizawa's room, going over some paperwork that needed to be put together before the end of the day. She was doing her job as his secretary as normal while the admiral worked on some paperwork of his own. It was just another uneventful, boring day, but she didn't mind. She enjoyed it when it's nice and quiet like this, where nothing is going on and there's nothing to worry about.
The same could not be said for Admiral Serizawa, who was rather bored after half of a stack of paperwork. Taihou would always just sit there quietly at her desk, diligently going about her work without a word. If he wanted to talk, he'd have to start a conversation himself; so, that's what he did.
"Taihou," Serizawa spoke up, getting the girl's attention.
"Yes, admiral?" Taihou asked, looking at him.
The admiral stared at her with a focused look in his eyes, and it started to make her feel uncomfortable. Before she could say anything, he continued. "There's Kaga, Akagi, and the others... But, you, Taihou... You're special."
A light blush appeared on her cheeks. "R-really...?"
He nodded, a smirk on his face. "You have two runways."
Silence.
Dead silence.
Maybe... he should have just enjoyed that peace and quiet.
