It was Olivia Bensons first day at SVU and she didn't know what to expect...well what she did expect was the victims especially the rape victims, since she was the product of a rape and wanted to try and protect everyone. She had tried to ring her mom this morning for her to maybe wish her look, but she realised her mom was still either up from the night before, or sleeping in late from the hangover which shed have...Olivia walked into the precinct and walked into Captain Cragans office.
"Come in" he says, Olivia walked in and he smiled at her "you must be Olivia?" He says
"Yes I am" she says returning the smile
"Let's go and get you settled in" he says
Cragan walked into the other room with the other detectives with Olivia "everyone this is Detective Benson, Detective Stabler meet your new partner" he says "right I'm off back into the office" he ends leaving the room. Elliot walks up to Olivia shaking her hand
"Nice to meet you..." He says weather or not to call her Benson
"You can call me Olivia" she says with a smile
"Elliot" he says "and this is John Munch, Monique Jeffery's and Brain Cassidy" he says pointing to everyone
"Nice to meet you...Olivia was it. John Munch" John says with a smile shaking her hand
"Finally another girl to talk to...thought I was going mad being the only girl" Monique says
"Brain Cassidy" Brain says looking Olivia up and down
"Eyes up Cassidy" Elliot says
"We'll let the lady decide shall we" he says in a cheeky way
"Nice to meet you all" Olivia says feeling very uncomfortable with Brain looking at her
"Right Olivia" Elliot says "this is your desk" he says bringing her to see her new desk
Olivia smiles at him "thanks" she says as she unpacks a picture of her and her mom and then walks over to Elliot's desk and sees the pictures of him and his kids "nice kids"
"Thanks"
"Are they a handful?" Olivia says
"No not really, Maureen's the eldest 15 then Kathleen and the twins"
"Must be nice to have kids" Olivia says smiling "they look like you"
"Haha I'm glad they do" Elliot says laughing a little "I only see them when I can now"
"The job?"
"Yeah that and my ex wife" he says
"Oh sorry"
"It's ok" he says
"We have a case, 15 year old rap victim at mercy, Benson, Stabler it's yours" Cragan says
"Let's go" Elliot says grabbing his and Olivia's coat.
Olivia comes home back to her apartment after a long day at work, she held it together for the 15 year old victim but as soon as she was alone she may have let a few tears left her eyes. She hadn't heard from her mom all day and she wasn't answering her phone, Olivia took that meaning she was already out drinking...Olivia popped into the shower and into bed thinking about hoe her first day was...she enjoyed having another girls company she understood what Monique meant about going mad, she tried to avoid Cassidy after him looking her up and down. I mean Olivia was flattered but he wasn't her type, plus he kind of grossed her out, and then John Munch she enjoyed listening to his conversations about the economy and what not he was like a father figure to her in only the day she known him, he was fast at coming to conclusions on what could of happened on the case. Then there was Elliot...she was thankful that he was single, cause she thought he was kinda cute, she enjoyed talking to him and listening to him talking about his children, which she didn't mind as Olivia loved kids after all. She was just about the nod off when her phone rung.
"Benson" she answered
"Hey Liv it's Elliot, just seeing how you though today went" Elliot said on the other line
Olivia smiled "I thought it was very productive" which in fact it was
"Yeh well I was wondering if you needed a lift in the morning?" He said
"Yeah sure why not"
"Great I'll pick you up at 7 he says"
Olivia tells Elliot her address
"Great see you tomorrow Liv"
"Bye Elliot" she says
Yeah she had a good day...
Days turned into months and months turned into a year. Olivia had really come along in SVU, she and Elliot had gotten very close, they were inseparable. Olivia was at her desk typing up her E45
"Got anything planned this weekend" Eliot asks Olivia
"Not really, you?"
"No, was suppose to be seeing the kids but Maureen's got finals, Kathleen's in one of her moods and the twins are with their grandma"
"Sounds rough"
"Yeah it is, thing is is that Kathys still not letting me see them as often as I would"
"But you guys have joint custody"
"Try telling Kathy that" he pauses "have you heard from your mom?"
"Not for a couple of weeks, she's probably drinking her life away or something"
"That bad hu?" Elliot asks
"Could be worse...right?" She says
"Olivia can I see you for a minute" Cragan says
"Sure" she says and goes into Cragans office, seeing two other cops on there "what's going on"
Cragan sighs before starting "you should sit down"
"I'm fine standing thanks" she says
"Liv, it's your mom"
"What she done now?" Olivia asks wondering if her mom got herself so drunk she either came onto a police man or so drunk she ended up in hospital with her stomach being pumped
"...she was walking down some stairs and she fell" he pauses for a moment "she didn't make it"
Olivia looks at Cragan "what really happened" Cragan goes to speak "look Captain, I've come to terms with my mom being a drunk, and knowing that the unexpected was going to happen and that one day something bad would happen"
"She was coming out of a nightclub" he says
"..."
"Liv...you can take the rest of the day off if you'd like"
"No I'll be fine, but thanks" she says leaving the room and going straight to the bunkers
Elliot stands up "what's up with Liv?"
Cragan gives Elliot a look that says it all "we have a case 20 year old mercy, Munch take Jefferies" he says and going back into his office. Elliot followed Olivia's direction and goes to the bunkers
"Hey" he says coming in
Olivia looks at him, tissue in her hand, tears in her eyes "hey El" she says forcing a smile
"What's happened Liv?"
"My mom" she starts and breaks down
Elliot holds her in his arms "what happened?"
"She's dead Elliot" Olivia says
"Oh god Liv, I'm so sorry"
"It's not your fault El. To be honest I was expecting it..."
"Oh Liv" he says hugging her more
"I just wish I got to say goodbye...you know"
"Yeah I know Liv" he says "it's going to be ok"
Olivia just crys and doesn't say anything, Elliot feels bad for Olivia as she has never cried in front of them since she's been at SVU
"Do you want me to spend the weekend with you...,,cheering you up?" He says
"I'll be ok...but thanks El" she says
Olivia arrives home that night flinging her keys on the side of her kitchen counter and just going into the shower just sitting in it, thinking about her mom and if she felt any pain. She knew she'd been in there for long because the water started to get cold, she got out and got dressed and made her way into her living room and opened the door as someone was knocking on it.
"How you feeling?" Elliot says the second she opened the door
Olivia let him in and walked in side "I'm ok"
"Come on, don't lie to me Liv" he says
"I just got out the shower"
"And how long were you in there for?"
"Well I got home at 7 and its 9...so since I got home"
"So your not ok"
"Guess I'm not she says falling onto her sofa"
Elliot joins her "things will get better" he says
Olivia lays her head on his shoulder "I know it will" she says as she closes her eyes
"Your falling asleep on me aren't you?" He says chuckling little
"Hum...maybe a little" Olivia says smiling
"Let's get you into bed" he says picking her up
"I can walk you know"
"Yeah but what are friends for" he says smiling and putting her in her bed
Olivia grabs his hand "stay" she says as she closes her eyes
"Though you didn't want me this weekend?"
"I don't...but it's getting late" she says
Elliot smiles as he knew she wanted him to stay, so he played along "ok, I'll stay and go home in the morning"
"You know you can stay here right?...I don't mind" she says
"I know you don't Liv" he says smiling, he gets into bed with her and they both fall asleep...cause you know that what 'friends' do right...
