Ello! ^^ Thanx for reading! On with the story!
Seto grumbled angrily to himself as he trailed behind an excited Mokuba. They were in Kiaba land, the first one built, and people were bustling about in all directions playing games and enjoying the rides. He had come to asses a supposedly emergent situation by when he had arrived everything had already been settled. He had wasted too much time and energy on these idiots today and he had an excessive amount of paperwork sitting on his desk at home. Scene they were already here Mokuba had begged him to ride a few rides and after several annoying minutes of being pestered he gave up. As they walked through his park to get to Mokuba's favorite ride he was stopped several times to sign autographs for random fans and their squealing voices, especially the girls, didn't help his growing irritation.
' !'
Seto turned on instinct at the shrill voice behind him only to have a weight slam into his chest. He tumbled backwards holding close whatever had hit him and his head bounced off the cement sending dancing spots behind his eyelids.
'Big brother are you ok?!'
He groaned in response to his bother and the weight on his chest moved. He looked down and when his vision cleared a bit all he saw was a large patch of white. Thinking he was unconscious and that there would be no harm he reached out to touch it but it moved. A girl's face appeared from the mass of white and she looked at him with confusion before recognition and horror covered her features, he didn't like that expression on her.
She leaned up a bit in attempt to get off him and he realized he recognized her, but from where? He didn't know. She was pulled away from him by the theme park's guards, lifted by a large hunk of her hair and dropped into a heap on the ground a foot or so away from him.
'How dare you touch Mr. Kiaba, apologize now!'
He leaned up onto his elbows as the girl bowed before him and when she looked up and spoke he didn't hear a word she said. When she looked at him and his vision fully cleared to see her face he knew who she was. Startled at his discovery he scrambled to his feet in what he assumed was an extremely undignified manner. She looked the same as his ancient memories described her. The girl from then had worn only a simple hunk of fabric as a dress and this girl was just as strange wearing only a t-shirt and jeans in the middle of Autumn. Momentarily confused by this new thought he wondered why she would have so little clothing on in almost freezing weather.
One of the guards suddenly picked her up again by her hair and began to drag her away towards the exit of the park and just before Seto was going to speak up himself a little voice beat him to it.
'Don't hurt her!'
A child came bounding from seemingly nowhere and started throwing rocks at the guards and it was all Seto could do not to fall over from shock the little girl looked exactly like Kisara.
'No honey I told you to hide!'
One of the guards that wasn't holding Kisara charged towards the girl and she hid behind him clutching the back of his legs. He looked down at her rather curious as to why she was seeking comfort with him of all people and she looked up at with deep blue eyes filled with tears.
'Please don't let them hurt my mommy.'
Something in Seto shifted with a sharp snap and a love that he only reserved for Mokuba sprang forward. Anger surged through him and he seethed at his own guards. They were stunned as his sudden mood change and both of them retreaded a few steps and the one holding Kisara's hair must've forgotten he had her because he pulled her with him. She let out a whimpering sound and reached up to grasp hold of her hair trying to keep it from being pulled any longer.
Blinding rage filled his vision and he stepped forward a few steps detaching his leg from the girl, leaving Mokuba to care for her. As he stalked towards them both men began to shake.
'M-Mr. Kiaba?'
It took all of his will power not to punch the man in the face instead his fists curled at his sides and he struggled not to bear his teeth like an animal. He was sure his eyes had darkened with hatred but he didn't care.
'Let the girl go now.'
He spoke through a locked jaw and gritted teeth but the guard having barely heard him protested.
'But Mr. Kiaba this woman is a thief and has been living of your storage for quite some time. We are under strict orders by you to eject her from the park.'
At the man's words Kisara who had been staring at him out of surprise looked down in shame. His blood boiled at that simple action. How dare that idiot make her feel that way! He clenched his hands so tight he was sure he would later find blood under his nails and tried to take a deep calming breath but his attempt to quell his hatred was shattered seconds later when the man spoke again.
'Besides Mr. Kiaba what would you want with this freak of a woman anyway? You could have anyone you like.'
He growled deep in his throat and he was sure his glare had increased 10 fold. The other guard realized what mistake had been made and turned tail running away. The original guard, still holding Kisara's hair, watched him go with a stunned expression on his face mumbling to himself.
'Huh I wonder what scared him.'
In one quick movement Seto found himself between Kisara and the guard who was now on the round nursing his right cheek. He realized he punched the man and started forwards to inflict more pain but suddenly his legs would not move. He looked down to see Kisara attached to him and he glared at her.
'Why are you holding me back after what he did and said to you?!'
She didn't answer his question. 'Look at him Mr. Kiaba I think you've made your point.'
The man on the ground hadn't moved and was now staring at him in fear. He paused, his anger draining and becoming very tired before he reached down to her and pulled her to stand with him, she was much lighter than he expected. Her clothes were a bit loose and as the wind blew she violently shivered, he sighed and shrugged his jacket off and draping it over her shoulders.
He turned back to the guard who still seemed to be in shock. 'You and your friend are fired, get out of my sight before I change my mind and slam your face into a brick wall'
The man nodded mutely and scrambled to his feet so he could run away. When he turned back to look at Kisara she wasn't there. He grew frantic for a few moments before he realized she was just a few feet away. She had slipped her arms into his jacket and bent down to embrace the girl who he realized with a start was bundled up quite well with a hat, jacket, scarf, and gloves.
He looked at Kisara again in his jacket which surely couldn't be that warm for her, it was only a trench coat after all, and her happiness was radiating off her I waves. When he walked over to them Mokuba immediately started up about how awesome he was and how he kicked their buts completely forgetting his roller coaster ride. He had learned to tune out his brother when necessary and turned to Kisara once again momentarily startled by how alike she and the child looked.
'Miss what was your name?'
He was always rather to the point and he knew the answer but he just wanted to hear her say it. She looked up at him with an alarmed expression and stood up to face him.
'I'm so sorry Mr. Kiaba all this trouble I caused you and I forgot to mention my name is Kisara. Thank you Mr. Kiaba.'
Surprised at how happy he was to hear her name he just nodded and then wrinkled his nose in disgust he didn't like it when she called him that. When he opened his mouth to speak his attention was diverted to a tugging on his pants, the girl was there trying to get his attention.
'Don't forget me Mr. Kiaba my name is Chione! It means a daughter of the Nile! Mommy told me that was a beautiful river in Egypt! Isn't my name pretty?!'
She grinned up at him and he blinked for a moment before processing what she said before he nodded. 'Yes it is.'
She squealed. 'Mommy he just said my name was pretty!'
Kisara laughed and the sound echoed lightly in his ears. 'Yes he did.'
The little girl- Chione ran to where Mokuba was and began talking excitedly and Kisara just shook her head at her daughter.
'She's so full of energy.'
Then she turned to look at him probably realizing just how dark it was getting and took off his jacket intending to hand it back to him but he shook his head.
'Put that back on you'll freeze.'
She smiled and did as told but when she had to brush her hair out from under a sleeve she winced and Seto realized that there was blood in her white hair, how had he missed it?
'You're hurt. Let me take a look at it.'
She smiled at him again and shook her head.
'I'll be fine. Thank you for your concern Mr. Kiaba and for your jacket of course. How can I ever repay you?'
She pulled his coat closer as the wind picked up but it didn't do well to protect her from the rigid temperature and he frowned.
'You two should come to our home, its freezing out. I'll get you some medical attention and something warm to eat.'
She opened her mouth to protest but he beat her to it and with a smirk he said-
'It's the least you could do.'
She clamped her mouth shut and hesitantly nodded with a smile. 'Alright Mr. Kiaba'
He turned towards where his brother was playing with her daughter.
'Come on Mokuba we're going home, and bring Chione with you.'
'Coming Seto!'
He turned and started in the direction he was going earlier before this mess unfolded and headed towards his limo parked at the back of the theme park. Once they settled into the leather seats of the vehicle, ignoring the stunned expression of the driver, Kisara smiled at him and he was almost sure his heart skipped a beat.
'Thank you Mr. Kiaba.'
He tried to smile back but after so long of not using the muscles and by the expression on her face he decided it didn't come out so well so he reverted back to frowning.
'Call me Seto.'
She giggled lightly behind her hand. 'If that is what you wish, Seto.'
This time he was sure his heart skipped a beat as it thumped painfully in his chest and he tried to smile again his time, according to the blush on her cheeks, he was successful.
