The Wild Wild West
In 1865, the Civil War had just been fought
and by President Grant a hero was sought
He must be brave, courageous, and daring, too.
But, who would accomplish his mission he hadn't a clue.
Sudddenly he thought of just the man,
to fulfill his noble plan.
He had proven himself in battle, but it should come as no surprise,
that ladies hearts were set a flutter by his delicious body, chestnut hair, and blue eyes.
His partner though, of common looks,
would make up for this by studying classical music and books.
As such he was knowledgeable and just the one to advise,
as well as being a master of inventions, languages, and disguise.
He and his partner would live on a train
while traveling across the country ensuring crime and terror would not reign.
The two of them could handle any mission that would need to be carried out.
They would be the perfect choice, of this, the President had no doubt.
Many were the enemies they would undoubtedly face.
But, there was one in particular to whom they would repeatedly give chase.
He was an evil genius and of diminutive size.
Yet, what he lacked in stature he made up for by the plans he did devise.
Dr Miguilito Loveless was his name
and taking over the world, by any means, was his solitary aim
Their lives were often endangered by his Mephistophelean schemes
However, by using intellect and muscle they escaped to put an end to his nefarious dreams.
Then back to the train they'd ride, on their faithful steeds,
to await word where their next adventure would lead.
Who are these two, President Grant's bravest and best,
None other than Artemus Gordon and James West.
