She Never Stopped Loving Him

Sango held up a picture in Kaede's hut, the one they had resided together in for so long. The picture was a little old, but she could still remember the day clearly, as though Kagome had only just taken the picture.

She sighed, fatigue and weariness creeping into her limbs. She stroked the fire cat at her feet, then huddled for warmth in a blanket of Kagome's. She closed her eyes for a moment, once more seeing his face. That of her love's.

Swallowing, she got up.

She used to sit and stare, and dream that he was there. But she quit that. She made up her mind, that someday she'd be fine. And she meant that.

She walked over to the opposite wall, picking up a cloak made for cold weather such as this. She draped it around her shoulders, and marched out into the snow.

And she stopped walking by their old place. Now it's not, that she don't know the way. She just stopped cause she had all she could take. But she never stopped loving him.

As she walked, she glanced at the old abandoned hut, and blinked away tears as she let go a heartfelt sigh.

She remembered those days. Where they had been happy together. Now it was all just a memory. Of happiness, yes. But it still left a pain in her heart, and her soul.

There's a place deep in her soul, a place she'll always hold. Only for him. Still she gets down on her knees, and prays that she won't be, lonely for him. And she stopped. Waking up every night, at three o'clock wanting him by her side. And she stopped, but no matter how hard she tried, she never stopped loving him.

She remembered the good times, and the bad even. She just wanted them back. She wished she'd done more, wish she'd said more. But she shrugged those thoughts away, and silently continued her trek.

All the time they were together, he was all she ever needed in this world. But still somehow, there were things she didn't tell him. She's gonna tell him now.

She finally reached her destination, and the wind blew through her hair and the cloak that was keeping her warm.

The leaves are off the trees, and the snow if awfully deep, for December. She walks right up to him, she can't quite find the words, but they're in there.

She takes a deep breath, and a tear rolls down her cheek. But she gathers up a silent, unbreaking courage.

So she stops, and says:

"Since you've been gone, I have thought, about how life must go on."

Then she stopped, and placed a rose on his stone, then left him alone.

As she walked away, she felt some of the bitterness of Miroku's parting leave her, and Sango began to smile for the first time in a few months.

But she never stopped loving him.

Damn, I made myself cry... sorry guys! I heard this song for the first time last night, but it's a really old country song. I mean REALLY old. Okay, maybe less than 10 years. Maybe. Sorry for not updating much else. This took about 20 minutes anyway. I needed a break, albeit a sad one. Review! But don't kill me. Thanks! -Ariana

PS: That little dialogue at the end is part of the song too, but it looked kind of funny in bold and italics. Sorry! :)
