In a dark room, two figure sitting together. One is a man and one is woman. They play a chess game and she boredly stare at her chesspawns. Currently, she already got his queen, one rook, one bishop, all his knights and four of his pawns. In short, she already reduce his strength to half. It is a miracle he still able to avoid a checkmate from her.
"I made a new game for you, darling." he try to bring a topic to bait her attention.
He waited for her response. She gazed boredly at his eyes. He sighed.
"This is a game called Pioneer. In this world, I already make some preparation." he paused before continued.
"White King, Black Prince, Red King, Blue Prince. They are already set in this game. We just need the players and some pawns." he explained.
"The rule?" she tucked some stray hair behind her left ear.
"Either you or me, we will 'dispose' the useless pawns. That rule, applied to useless players as well. So, you must careful to pick your players, darling."
"...Seems rather interesting." she said.
Slowly, a light of being alive returned into a pair of blank red eyes.
"So, when we start this 'Pioneer' game?" she asked excitedly.
"Soon, darling. Soon." he smirked.
"But, just a game will be boring, right?" he asked.
"Eh?" she meet his eyes.
"How about...a bet?" he asked.
What she don't know is, he planned something behind his seemedly innocent question.
"...A bet? What is this bet?" she slowly falling into his trap.
"The bet is..."
