We Might As Well
Disclaimer: I don't own Grey's Anatomy or We Might As Well Be Strangers. (Because if I did, Meredith and McDreamy would have been together all along!)
This is a change for me. Normally I'd be doing a Derrick/Meredith story, but my aunt is a big Finn/Meredith fan, so I decided to write this for her. READ ON!!!!

"I'm sorry…" Derrick picked up his bag and walked out.
I don't know your
face no more
Or feel your touch that I adore
She cried for a while and then packed up her things and left. 'Well, I guess he was right…' She took one last look around before walking out to her car. She turned on the radio.
I don't know
your face no more
It's just a place I'm looking for
We might as well
be strangers in another town
We might as well be living in a
different world
We might as well
We might as well
We might
as well
She walked into the ER and passed by Izzy, Alex, and Christina. Walking over to the stack of charts, she saw him. He had a smile spread across his face. Her heart fluttered just as it had for the last few years whenever she saw him.
He noticed her
and his smile softened. I don't know your thoughts these
days
We're strangers in an empty space
She stepped into the elevator, and he stepped in behind her.
"Hi…"
"Hey, Mer…" he gave that smile again.
She leaned against the wall of the elevator, waiting to get to the floor she needed.
"I might need you to scrub in for a surgery later today…" She nodded, crossing her fingers that she would soon reach the floor she wanted.
"Look,…..I'm sorr-"
She put her hand to his lips and shook her head. As the elevator noted she had reached her destination, pulled her hand away and walked out.
I don't
understand your heart
It's easier to be apart
She watched as he talked to Dr. Bailey about an upcoming surgery. He was excited, and she could tell by the smile spread across his face. She sighed, grabbing another chart and walking past him. Her shoulder brushed his, and her heart did a flip, but she held it together.
We might as well
be strangers in another town
We might as well be living in a
another time
We might as well
We might as well
She walked out of work, across the street. She walked up to the bar and sat down in an empty seat.
"Can I get you anything?"
"Uh…just water…."
"Mer?" She turned and smiled at the familiar voice.
We might as well
be strangers
Be strangers
Tears filled her eyes. He had been right.
A blonde walked up to him.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He stepped forward.
For all I know
of you now
"Nothing…you were right…He did break my heart again…And you're not here for me…"
For all I know
of you now
For all I know of
you now
"That's not true...I still love you Meredith…"
"Oh, Finn…" he caressed her cheek and wiped her tears….
For all I know
