An eerie calm fell over the crowd as they selected the first two contestants to do battle. As Roy Mustang put his hand into the raffle and he pulled out a name.

Before I read the first name I would like to say that anyone can be drawn. The first name to be drawn is… Ed Elric Roy says into the megaphone

(Crowd cheering wildly)

Huh… yeah I knew it would be Ed said with no worry about his opponent

(Crowd cheering quiets)

The second name to be chosen……. Roy Mustang, he said into the megaphone

The crowd grew into a monstrous roar, which continued for about two minutes before dying down.

The match will take place on the battlefield in ten minutes. Both contestants must be ready to battle or shall forfeit. He said with no intention to show that he thought he was better.

Kain ran up to Roy and said, Roy! Are you positive you are going to win?

Roy halts

Of course, he replied in a rather low voice.

At the same time Ed shows no intent to show fear at fighting Roy

Brother? Al said quietly

Yes Ed said in reply

Well the match is in five minutes and well are you prepared? Prepared for battle?

Yes! Ed said shocked. how could you think I wasn't?

Sorry Brother, Al said quietly, well it's jus

Don't worry, Ed said interrupting Al, I will be fine.

Okay, Al said doubting his brothers' words.

Contestants, Kain said on the Megaphone, are you ready?

Always ready Ed replied.

Born ready said Mustang.

Then fight! Kain uttered over the megaphone.

Right away Roy snapped and shot fire blast repeatedly at Ed.

You might as well give up Roy said to Ed

Never! Ed yelled in reply

Meanwhile in the crowd…

How does he do that? Questioned Kain

Isn't it obvious? A mysterious private replied… He is using combustion gloves

Combustion gloves? Kain thought.

Yes combustion gloves, he uses them to create sparks in the air, he then uses his alchemy to change the oxygen around him to attack with the fire balls. A very complicated alchemy but he has mastered it never the less. The private explained.

Oh. Kain said confused

Back to the fight… Roy continuously fires at Ed.

Roy stops and asks himself, where did he go?

Roy hears a faint clapping sound and pounding sound.

Oh no, Roy gasps

Ed had used his alchemy powers and created a giant cannon

Huh Roy smirked without a sound of worry in his voice

What is he going to do? Kain said in shock.
