She was dying, and it scared her. Tani always knew that death was an imminent risk coming onto the task force, but she didn't expect her time to run out after only two months. There was so much left for her to accomplish, a reputation to build, and lives to save.
In that first moment, she didn't think the life needing saved would be hers.
More specifically, she didn't think her time would run out before she got fully acquainted with him.
Tani didn't come to the job looking to find a love interest, seeking someone to fall head over heels for. She saw the job as an opportunity to make a change, and meet new and intriguing people. Yet, intriguing he was.
There are a lot of things for her to admire about Junior Reigns, and striking good looks were just the tip of the iceberg. He's funny, makes her feel important, chivalrous, gentle, focused, and driven. Perhaps most importantly, he treats her like anyone else - like any other cop, capable and able to fulfill her position.
But does she want him to treat her like anyone else?
Does she not yearn for him to undress her with his eyes, ghost over her curves on the beach, brush wind-blown waves from her cheeks?
She'll only know if given enough time.
And it wasn't looking like she'd get it.
Tani Rey didn't necessarily fear death. Instead, she regretted all she'd miss, all the journeys she'd never get to experience, people she'd never meet, and lives she wouldn't get to influence.
What she did fear?
That, if she did make it out alive, she wouldn't take advantage of what was right in front of her.
A/N: someone kindly explain why there is no Tani option when picking characters
