Cold hearted
Chapter one
Sasuke Uchiha sat at the kitchen counter, his laptop open on the counter in front of him. His head pounded with a raging headache and he found it hard to focus on the report in front of him. He didn't know why he'd allowed Itachi to talk him into drinking so much the night before. Of all his family members, his brother was the only one that he could stand to be around. Itachi was what most would consider their best friend, but since Sasuke wasn't able to form close bonds with people. Sasuke didn't find joy in much, but what little emotions he did feel, he could usually count on Itachi to pull them out.
However, after their little get together the night before where both of them had gotten a little too drunk and it left Sasuke angrier than he had ever been in his life, Sasuke wasn't angry at his brother no, but he was annoyed with blonde boy that he worked with. Sasuke didn't care for the hyperactive blonde even though he had known him since they were 13 years old, Sasuke really didn't like it when Naruto came to hang out with Itachi at their , lately, Itachi hadn't been home much, he had canceled plans of spending time together that he and Sasuke had made, and Sasuke had recently found out that all those times that Itachi had canceled hanging out with him, that he had been going on dates with Naruto. Sasuke typically didn't feel much, most people considered him cold and calculating. Sasuke could be that, but he could also be charming and manipulative, Sasuke could easily charm people into believing that he was their best friend. Sasuke didn't know whether that made him really good or whether it made them really stupid for thinking that he was better than what he was.
After several canceled weekend plans where Itachi had been spent with Naruto. Itachi had shown up at their apartment with a couple six packs of beer, pleading with Sasuke to let him in. Sasuke had only made his brother suffer at the door for a few minutes before letting his brother in. Sasuke had shut off his computer and had proceeded to sit and drink a couple of beers with his brother. Neither had spent a lot of time drinking, Sasuke didn't like it, and Itachi really didn't need to drink to have a good time. But Sasuke could tell that on Itachi was struggling with something. Sasuke himself didn't know why his brother would turn to him considering Sasuke kept him closed off from most people, preferring his own company to anyone else, aside form Itachi.
After a couple of beers, Itachi was more than a little drunk and that was when he confessed to something that Sasuke wouldn't have believed what his brother had told him, which sent Sasuke into such a rage that he wanted nothing more than to strangle the life out of Naruto.
"I'm in love with Naruto" Itachi slurred, setting his beer down beside him as he stared at his emotionless brother. While Sasuke appeared to not let the news bother him, inside a storm was brewing that the older Uchiha wasn't aware of. He had no idea that in his confession would set things into motion that put his younger lover in jeopardy.
"And what does he feel?" Sasuke asked, wanting nothing more than to kill roommate for trying to steal his brother. Itachi was the only person that Sasuke could really tolerate being around. Especially after everything that had happened with their family, Sasuke might work for his father but he didn't have anything to do with the man outside of work.
"He feels the same." Itachi replied. "In fact he wants me to move in with him." Sasuke's eyes narrowed, if Itachi moved in with Naruto, then that would mean that Sasuke wouldn't get to see him as much and that wasn't something that Sasuke could handle.
"I don't think you moving out would be a good idea." Sasuke stated coolly, "What if I have a nightmare and I need you or something?"
"Then you can call me on the phone." Itachi slurred. "You're my little brother and I would do anything for you."
"Then stay here." Sasuke stated. "Don't move in with that moron."
"Naruto is not a moron." Itachi muttered. "your so cold towards people that he doesn't know how to act around you."
"I don't need friends, I only need you." Sasuke replied.
"You just need to learn to trust that not everyone is out to hurt you," Itachi replied. "I'm not sure who hurt you but I know they messed you up pretty badly."
"You have no idea." Sasuke muttered, he had known Naruto since they were kids. And after Naruto's parents deaths he had come to stay with the Uchiha's, while Sasuke had done his best to stay away from him, because he had been going through the most painful time of his life and he couldn't tell anyone. He hadn't been sure how, so instead he had watched Itachi and Naruto grow closer and Sasuke had been forced to deal with his abuse on his own. When Naruto was diagnosed with cancer Sasuke had found himself hoping that Naruto would lose the battle, but much to his disappointment he hadn't. Sasuke supposed that's where his feelings of resentment towards Naruto had started and only grew worse as he realized that Naruto was trying to steal Itachi away from him.
Sasuke had to put an end to that as soon as possible, he wasn't going to allow Itachi to be taken from him. He only needed to come up with a plan that would end the blonde boy's life. Walking over to the window, of his and Itachi's second story apartment.
As Sasuke looked out over the city of Konoha, a plan began to form in his mind, a plan that would take Naruto out of their lives, and leave Itachi right where he was. Sasuke smirked, if his brother knew what he was thinking he would probably call the police.
"Morning Sasuke." Sasuke heard his older call out as he exited his bedroom.
"How's your head?" Sasuke asked, his headache had finally eased as the morning went on.
"Don't ask." Itachi moaned as he sat down at the table and lay his head down on the hard surface.
"Still going in to work?" Sasuke asked as he went into the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with a Bloody Mary mix, handing it to Itachi before sitting down across from him.
"If my hangover goes away." Itachi said. "Why did you let me drink so much."
"As I recall you were the one that brought the alcohol" Sasuke replied emotionlessly. "Are you still planning on moving in with Naruto?"
"I told you that it was time to take for us to take our relationship to the next level." Itachi said.
"Why do you have to move out?" Sasuke asked. "Why can't you and Naruto continue as is, if you insist on dating the moron."
"Sasuke he's not a moron, he's a kindhearted man who would do anything for those he loves." Itachi said.
"Including die?" Sasuke muttered as he stood and turned away. He didn't want Naruto to take Itachi away from him, then again Naruto had slowly been stealing Sasuke's source of comfort for years, ever since the boy had been sent to live with them when they were teenagers.
"What did you say?" Itachi asked, staring at his brother and wondering if he'd really said what Itachi had thought he had said.
"Nothing important." Sasuke replied, as he headed towards his computer. He wanted to get his ideas down before he forgot them, but he didn't want Itachi to see what he was planning.
"Does Naruto work today?" Sasuke asked.
"Not until later this evening." Itachi replied as he finished drinking the Bloody Mary mix that Sasuke had made him.
"Think he would want to come over for a little while?" Sasuke asked, knowing that Itachi would only think that Sasuke wanted to discuss Itachi's and Naruto's future plans.
"Probably." Itachi replied. "He's always talking about trying to get on better terms with you."
"I would be glad to talk to him, I don't hate him after all." Sasuke lied."
"You're so odd with the way you form relationships that Naruto isn't sure of how to go about doing that." Itachi said.
"I don't see the need for relationships. I have you and that's all I need."
"You also have two parents that love you." Itachi pointed out. Sasuke snorted.
"They wouldn't know what love was if it bit them on the ass." Sasuke replied coolly. He didn't want Itachi to know what he had been put through, Itachi didn't deserve to know the kind of pain that Sasuke knew all so well.
"What's your problem with them?" Itachi wondered. "You only talk to our father at work, you haven't talked to our mother since we moved into this apartment."
"I don't want to talk about it." Sasuke said coldly, "I don't even like thinking about. I wouldn't want to put that on your shoulders." Itachi said.
"I wish I knew how to help you." Itachi murmured. "Living the way you are isn't living."
"You can help me by staying here." Sasuke replied, watching as Itachi stood up.
"That's not fair to either me or Naruto." Itachi replied. "We both deserve to have the life we want with each other."
"Not for long." Sasuke muttered before returning to the glass window. He was going to make sure that Naruto got out of Itachi's life or Sasuke would make sure that he didn't have a life. That way Itachi wouldn't leave him.
"I guess I'll see you later." Itachi said. "I'll call Naruto and send him your way." Sasuke nodded turning away so that Itachi couldn't see the smirk on his face.
Once Itachi left, Sasuke headed towards the kitchen and pulled a beer out of the fridge, popping the top Sasuke preceded to break one of his sleeping capsules open and poured it into the beer. He knew that Naruto liked to drink and he wouldn't likely think about taking a beer from Sasuke. And when Naruto fell through the window, they would do blood work and think that he had too much sedative in his system and falling through the window would be an accident.
Putting the top back on the beer, Sasuke put it back in the fridge. He was honestly looking forward to putting his plan into motion. He only had to rid the world of Naruto and then Itachi and him could live in peace.
A few hours later, Sasuke heard a knock on the door, standing he made his way across the living room to open the door.
"Come on in." Sasuke said offering him a small smile, even though Sasuke knew it likely looked fake on his face.
"I was surprised to get Itachi's call this morning." Naruto said nervously. "I know you don't like me, and I think I know why."
"Why's that?" Sasuke asked, frowning at the blonde boy who stuffed his hands into his pockets.
"Because you have a crush on me, and you don't really want to share with Itachi." Naruto replied staring down the floor.
"Trust me when I say that I'm not gay," Sasuke replied. "I would kill myself if I was."
"Your brother is gay." Naruto said dumbly, "do you hate him for that?"
"No," Sasuke answered as he walked into the kitchen and grabbed the beer that he had poured his sleeping pill into, and handed it to Naruto who had followed him into the kitchen.
"You're not normal are you?" Naruto asked. "You've never been normal. You're cold, and you don't form relationships with people."
"You think you know me." Sasuke asked, feeling annoyed.
"I've known you as well as someone who watches from a distance can know you." Naruto replied. "You've never had a relationship as far as I can tell and you only hang out with your brother."
"Drink your beer and shut up already." Sasuke muttered watching as Naruto popped the top of with ease, and raised the bottle to his lips. Sasuke turned his head so that Naruto couldn't see the smirk. His sleeping pills were fast acting so Naruto would start feeling drowsy anytime now.
"Itachi tells me that you want him to move in with you." Sasuke asked, keeping his eyes on Naruto.
"Yes, I think he's old enough to start living his own life now. I want to be able to move on in our relationship." Naruto replied, as he finished the beer he placed the bottle on the table and moaned softly.
"Feeling bad?" Sasuke asked, glee filling him as watched Naruto blink slowly at him and nod. "Maybe you need a little air." Sasuke stood and went over to Naruto helping him up and helping across the room and out onto the balcony. Sasuke glanced over the rail at the spiked fence down below.
As Naruto put his hands on the railing, Sasuke placed his hands on Naruto's back and leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"Stay away from my brother. He belongs to me." Sasuke hissed as he shoved hard, the rail that Naruto was leaning on giving away and causing Naruto to fall. Sasuke laughed as he watched Naruto's body land on the pike, it pierced Naruto's chest. Sasuke's eyes glittered as he watched Naruto's body go limp on the fence. Sasuke doubted anyone would find him until it was too late.
Thanks for reading and reviewing! Liz
This was supposed to replace the first chapter of insanity, however it kind of turned into it's own story so I decided to see where it was going to take me.
