Fallen Soldier

Up on cliff's edge, the loner grey wolf, Tsume, sat silently, staring blankly at the silver lined moon. Too amased by the moon's glow, Tsume didn't notice the young pup, Toboe, sneeking up behind his.

"Tsume?"

Toboe paused. Too fouced in on the moon, Tsume didn't hear that pup's quiet call, all he did do was lean back on his hunches and sing. Taken back by Tsume's howls, Toboe just truely realized how beautiful Tsume's singing really was. Laying on the ground behind Tsume, toboe began to listen to Tsume's hipmatizing song.

Soung the Bugle Now - Play it just for me

As the Seasons Change - Remember how I used to be

Now I can't go on - I can't even start

I've got nothing left - Just an Empty Heart

Toboe felt tears well up in his eyes as he listened to Tsume's heart breaking howls. Not even lifting his head, he also could smell that Tsume's eyes were also filled with tears, but soon Toboe's nose smelt something else. The scent of fresh blood. Glanceing up at Tsume, Toboe's worry became Fear. Tsume's wrist with slit. Droplets of blood formed small pools around Tsume's feet. Toboe jumped to his feet but fell back on the hine legs as tsume began to sing once again.

I'm a Soldier - Wounded so I must give up the Fight

There's nothing more for me - Lead me away...or leave me lying here

Toboe gathered himself to his feet once more and stepped slowly toward Tsume. With every step that Toboe took, he could feel Tsume's spirit give up on life.

Sound the Bugle Now - tell them I don't care

There's not a road I know - That leads me to anywhere

Without a light - Fear that I will - Stumble in the Dark

Lay right down - Decide not to go on

Tsume sttod and toboe saw more droplets fall as tsume stepped towards the edge of the cliff. realizing what tsume was going to do, Toboe had to stop him. Leaping to his feet, Toboe rushed to tsume and tightly wrapped his arms around Tsume's waist, then he sang.

Then from on high - Somewhere is the distance

There's a voice that calls - Remember who you are

If you Lose your self - Your Couage soon will follow

Tsume spun around in Toboe's arms and stared down at Toboe's tear stained face.

"Toboe, What are you -" Tsume's words were cut off by Toboe's singing once again.

So be strong tonight - Remember who you are

Toboe's grip on Tsume tightened as his finished his song. Then he barried his head in Tsumes chest and chocked out a small sob. Toboe gasped as felt a pair of strong arms wrap around whis shouders. He also could feel that warm, wet blood seeping into his shirt.

"What were you thinking?!" Toboe chocked out another sob.

"That's the thing...i wasn't..."

Toboe stared up into Tsume's golden eyes.

"I guess i felt too lonely to live..."

Fresh tears fell from Toboe's eyes he burried his head into Tsume's chest again.

"You were never Alone! I will Always be there for you!"

Tsume's widen as hesmiled down at the pup. Then he turned his head up towards the moon and howled.

Yeah! I'm a Soldier now - Fighting in a battle

To be free once more - Yeah! what's worth fighting for!

Smiling up at the gleaming Tsume, Toboe Whispered into Tsume's chest,

"I will never leave you, not even in Paradise."
