After Dylan Hunt left Med Deck Trance worked on Uxulta's wounds in silence. This continued for a few minutes as she silently wondered how she could heal the Vedran's wounds completely without revealing her true nature to everyone. Suddenly Uxulta broke the silence by saying "Maia would you please leave us, I want to speak with Trance alone."
After Maia left Uxulta immediately invoked the privacy mode before saying to Trance "Please just make me well enough to complete my mission there's no need for you do do more than that."
"Why ..." Trance started to say but was interrupted.
"If you are who I think you are you already know why." Uxulta paused a moment before continuing. "My people have had a myth since the dawn of our history about an avatar of the sun god Tarn after whom the star which is our sun was named. She was able to take any form she desired but it was always as a female guide and healer. She was associated with many miraculous works and adventures in our early history of our civilization. For many millennium she was believed to be merely a myth but almost thousand years ago our scientists learned that the stars in many ways were very much like living beings. Then 400 years ago our scientists made a series of discoveries that changed the way we understood the universe completely. We learned that the stars were indeed living beings who whose intelligence and power were far beyond our own and that they, those who chose to do so, did indeed have avatars who interacted with lesser beings on their behalf. We decided not to share what we learned with the other member races of our Commonwealth because they were simply not ready for that knowledge yet. I believe that you are that avatar of our beloved sun. Am I right?"
Trance considered for a few seconds what the consequences might be if she confirmed it. Since Uxulta's mission was clearly going to result in her death it would not hurt to let her know the truth. "Yes I am" Trance said in Vedran rather than in common.
Uxulta sighed in relief. "Would you convince Captain Hunt to give me the nova bomb that I need to complete my mission?"
"No I won't" Trance replied firmly. Then she went on to explain why not. "I could do what you ask but only at the expense of my mission. If I do as you ask the new Commonwealth that Dylan is trying to build will not come to pass and all will be lost. If that happens the success of your mission won't matter."
"Why?"
"If I were to convince him I'd have to reveal things which would raise questions in his mind. Questions that Dylan would be compelled to answer. Finding those answers would be very bad for my mission because at best Dylan would no longer cooperate and at worst he would work against me. With out Dylan there will be no new Commonwealth. With no Commonwealth there will be no stopping the Magog. If the Magog aren't stopped then the known galaxies will become like M86. I'm sure you know about M86 because if you didn't you wouldn't be doing what you are going to do. What you don't know is that the Magog, if not stopped, will eventually find and destroy all that you've tried to save." Trance paused a few seconds to let her words sink in before continuing. "Now if you convince him then the new Commonwealth will come to pass and your mission may very well accomplish it's intended goal. Also the new Commonwealth may very well become an even better and stronger Commonwealth than your Commonwealth was." After she finished speaking Trance turned and left the Med Deck.
