Gray smoke curls out of her mouth. Her cigarette tastes stale and plain. She stares at the moon wondering why she ever came to this horrible future. Drinking the rest of the liquor in her bottle, she tosses it onto the other side of the rock that her and her best friend were sitting on. It clangs against all the other bottles noisily. Carefully, she stands up on wobbly legs.

"Fuck my life," she mutters softly. Katrina looks up at her best friend. Egypt is just standing there, her toned body shining in the full moonlight. They were next to their favorite lake. Egypt, careful not to fall into the water yet, took off her black tank top. Her tanned body glistened in the moonlight. She unbuttoned her Tripp pants and stepped out of them. Her black cat-tail twitched, as her cat ears flattened to her head. Katrina looked scared, she didn't want Egypt to jump into the lake and hit her head on a rock.

Suddenly, Egypt sprung into the night. Her body arched perfectly as she hit the water head first without making a single splash. Katrina ripped of her clothes and jumped in feet first after her, arching her body so she too, didn't make a splash.

Once submerged, Katrina took a look around. The lake was dark and eerie, only little beams of moonlight showed through the murky water. She started swimming; her and Egypt could hold their breath for over an hour so she wasn't in too much of a rush. With her enhanced eyesight she scanned the coastline, looking for any disturbance in the sand that would indicate Egypt getting out of the water. When she saw no sign what so ever, she started looking at the bottom of the lake. As she moved in closer to the middle of the lake the water started getting clearer and clearer.

Finally, she reached the center of the lake and saw Egypt meditating at the bottom; pushing away all the impurities in the water so the moon could shine down on her. Katrina swam down and put a hand on Egypt's shoulder. Egypt lost concentration and the impurities in the water slowly started floating back to where they were. Egypt held onto the necklace Inuyasha gave her, painfully remembering all that happened and why they were separated now. She grabbed Katrina's hand and signaled to rise to the surface. Katrina nodded and they started their ascent, Egypt in the lead.

Katrina watched Egypt as they ascended. She thought Egypt was beautiful, her toned muscles pushed her through the water at a lightening fast pace, while her silver with blue speckled eyes concentrated on getting to the surface. Determination was there in her eyes and Katrina couldn't wait to hear what Egypt's plan was going to be.
