The signal was small, small enough to go unnoticed if Decepticon signatures didn't begin to pop up around it.
"Optimus, the signal is small but Decepticons are investigating." Ratchet looked back to the Prime. The Prime nodded and gathered the Autobots.
"Autobots prepare to roll out!" Optimus commanded as he looked towards Ratchet.
"Open the bridge, Ratchet." Ratchet nodded and opened the groundbridge.
"Good luck Bulk! Kick some 'Con tailpipe!" Miko exclaimed as she leaned over the rail of the human area. The Autobots went through the bridge and it closed.
Ratchet turned back to the screen only to be surprised that most of the signals went offline with the smaller one going haywire.
"What in Primus..." Ratchet muttered before a comm. opened.
"Ratchet 'bridge us back," Optimus said through it before the comm. shut off.
Ratchet opened it quickly and the others ran in avoiding a blue smoke that slowly made its way into the base before abruptly getting cut off.
"What happened?" Ratchet curiously looked at what was cupped in Bumblebees servos.
"We found this human in the midst of the Decepticons and a grenade went off as we retrieved them." Optimus gestured to the human with a few burns from the energon in the grenade.
"So, we have another human to take care of," Ratchet grumbled as he carefully grabbed them. They were curled around something.
"Another human! Sweet!" Miko exclaimed excitedly as she bounded towards the ledge that was near the berth the other human was placed on.
"Who's gonna be their guardian?" Raf asked softly as he followed Miko to observe as well.
"Ratchet-" Optimus began only to be cut off by said medic, "-Optimus I am far to busy to look after a human!"
"Old friend, you must watch them, the others already have a charge and I am busy myself with reports for the human government to watch over them," Optimus explained carefully wording.
Ratchet stared at Optimus for almost an entire minuted before sighing in defeat and grumbled.
"What have they curled around? I tried prying it but they're stuck tight" Arcee asked as she focused on the human in a fetal position.
Ratchet carefully pried the arms from around their legs and flattened them out on the berth. Ratchet hunched over the human as he worked carefully only to find an energon shard about the size of the human hand.
"He had an energon shard, don't know why but we might have picked it up when the Decepticons arrived. Causing such a small ping." Ratchet examined the shard and saw that it was being shaped into something.
The others dispersed once they knew of the mystery but Optimus stayed to watch the medic work.
"Ratchet, will they be alright? Energon is very... dangerous to human skin," Optimus looked at Miko as she was engrossed in a game in the human area. The scar burn on her neck was small but noticeable if you really looked.
"He's fine, it's minor burns on his body but his lower arms and hands might scar." Ratchet concluded as he carefully wrapped the human's arms with the white bandages he had on stand by.
Optimus nodded as he began thinking about the new arrival, hoping they won't react too badly when they wake up.
