She stared at the delicate ring that told her all too well who was before her if the appearance of the other woman wasn't clue enough.
The princess of the underworld was standing before her, tail slowly flitting about behind her, and long hair gently tucked against her sides.
All Shiemi could see was this woman who stood a bit proudly, long used to her power, though her eyes betrayed such a deep sadness that Shiemi felt the undeniable urge to protect her.
Humans weren't supposed to love demons like her, but Shiemi felt her heart give out as she stared forward at the woman that looked so out of place in Assiah as her tail swished about behind her and with every little thing about her yet Shiemi could feel her mind wandering, jumping away from her with images of being with this demon, of carving out a life together regardless of the consequences of being with such a high level demon.
She held her breath as she slowly let the other woman take her hand with a smile on her face, "I'm sorry that we were given these roles." Her eyes spoke of a sadness that was too severe to simply stare at yet it also held Shiemi captive as she waited with bated breath, lost in those eyes.
"It can't be helped, but we can still be together." Shiemi smiled softly; she refused to believe that people were bound by the positions they were offered anymore.
Rin smiled and pulled her closely in a gentle and loose hug; humans were supposed to be wise enough to not fall for demons especially very high ranked ones yet sometimes what was forbidden was rebelled against, and Shiemi smiled just to be near her as she felt that gentle grasp, hold her away from the world, the judgement of said world, and right as well as wrong.
She would risk it just this once, and perhaps for this choice, hope could be in their future.
