"It's Valentines Day," the sound of his blonde senpai's voice filled Fran's head. It took a few moments, but the prince finally appeared, sitting next to Fran on the couch. The sentence didn't really call for a response, but Fran decided to answer anyway.

"It's the same day every year senpai." he murmured, trying to concentrate on something other than the prince. He flinched, however, as something sharp pierced his arm. Bel had stabbed him.

"Don't get smart with me froggy." Bel answered menacingly.

It went silent for a few minutes…that is, until Fran decided to question the prince, "What do you think of Valentines Day, Bel-senpai?"

It took Bel a moment to answer, he was playing with the knife in his hands. "As long as the prince gets things, he doesn't really care."

"As long as you get things…like gifts?" Fran asked in a bored tone. He had taken Bel's knife out of his arm and proceeded to bend it until it was at a 90 degree angle before tossing it aside.

"Yeah, what else stupid frog?" Bel prodded Fran with another of his knives, giggling when the boy flinched once more.

After exchanging a few more sentences and being stabbed a bit Fran finally escaped Bel's pointy reach, already knowing exactly what to give the prince, as it was Valentines Day.

It was a bit later in the day before Bel finally found his gift.

"Um, what the hell?" Bel laughed, staring at the thorned rose in his hands. All of his knives were missing, and he'd found the prickly flower in their place.

The flower had been picked from the garden just outside the Varia HQ building, and the one who had put it there was already safely on the roof of the building, far away from the prince's imminent wrath.

Fran tore his eyes away from the sunset in front of him and turned them down to the knives in his hands. He'd just heard the prince yell, so he must've figured out the "gift".

Fran turned his eyes back to the sunset.

"Happy Valentines Day, senpai."
