Ok COMPLETELY AU. This is a major what if, set after the scene in the ballet studio. Edward couldn't stop drinking and she is too weak.

Never Alone

I'd never given much thought to how I would die, though I'd had reason enough in the last few months- But even if I had I would not have imagined it like this.

I heard an angel crying "Bella please don't leave me. I need you." The pain was lessening, and now I felt like I was drowning again.

I stayed quiet.

I was dying, I could feel it.

James had won.

It hurt badly but I knew better than to shove my pain upon my Edward.

I had once told Him "I'm more of the suffer in silence type."

Well now it seemed right to keep true to my words.

I wasn't anything special and I was sure Edward would move on slowly.

I slowly drifted into the darkness.

It caused me no pain.

I embraced it and all of a sudden there was a flash of light.

I tried to open my eyes but it hurt so I settled into the softness below me with them clamped shut.

I finally opened my eyes and it no longer hurt like it did before. I saw myself surrounded in clouds. Ah. So this was heaven. I walked over to what looked to me like a huge cloudy basin. I touched the water inside and it showed me Edward below.

He was in a different setting "Do It Aro. Kill me." I saw an old man with milky red eyes grinning. "Why would I do that dear child?" He smirked "DO IT" Edward screamed. 'No' I thought. He can't. He wouldn't.

The old man shook his head.

Edward sprang toward him, instantly being tackled by two huge men. I saw flames flicker from another's hand and hit him square in the chest. I heard a screech. "WHAT DID YOU IMBECILES DO?" The old man yelled.

A lone tear track itself down my face and hit my feet.

My Edward was dead.

I felt arms snake around my waist.

I turned to my angel.

"Don't worry. I'm here for you."
