Friends are great, aren't they? That's why I'm writing this, for one of MY friends: Alyssacookie. She's been nonstop help for me, so this lil' oneshot is for her, and it includes her fave couple, Silvaze. Enjoy, and NO FLAMES.

There she lay, on her back on a hospital bed, her stomach swelled way out of proportion. Nine months earlier, she had been doing 'it' with him, now 'it' was leading to parenthood. The purple feline could feel her husband's anxiety. She couldn't stand it, almost to the point where she wanted him to witness the birth.

"Nurse," said Blaze, as the old badger came to her call,

"What troubles you?"

"Bring him in," said Blaze,

"Who?" asked the nurse,

"MY HUSBAND, THE WHITE HEDGEHOG, TELL HIM THAT HE HAS TO WHITNESS THE BIRTH OF HIS DAUGHTER, OR HEADS WILL ROLL,"

"Calm down," said the badger, as she eased out the door. Silver came in a few minutes later,

"Honey," he said, "I'm so sorry about this,"

"No need to be," said Blaze, "I know you'll make a good dad. Now stay in here, and be sure to hand out cigars when she's here."

"Okay," said Silver, seriously. That's when Blaze's breathing became rapid and heavy. The doctor came in a flurry,

"Okay," he said, "Now push." Blaze did so. She pushed like no tomorrow. The pain was like nothing she'd ever felt before.

"Breath," said the doctor, as she breathed. She repeated this cycle for what seemed like an eternity.

"I see a head," said the doctor, a wolf, "keep it up." Blaze could feel the tiny body being brought into the world. She felt the foot slip out; the baby was born. Her efforts were rewarded by the sound of a newborn crying. The umbilical cord was cut, and the baby was wrapped in a blanket. They placed it in her arms. It was a beautiful cat, with silver streaks down its head. As the baby, named Alyssa, had breakfast. Silver was in the waiting room, passing out cigars. Whatever trials parenthood brought forth, they'd be ready for all of them.
