It was a whole new world. Children ran around like nothing was wrong. Lina looked at Doon, as sudden feeling of hope feeling her whole body. "The children of the Builders," she whispered.
Doon first looked uncertain, like a dream until he heard Lina's whisper. He was in a daze, as he looked up to the white circle in the sky. The children looked so happy in the little light that they had.
One by one, each child looked at them, and smiled. Lina and Doon didn't move, as though they were prey of animals. One of them waved their hand to come join them. Lina and Doon exchanged glances. Poppy was laughing in Lina's arms, just like the Builders' children. Lina slowly went to join them, almost as dazed as Doon.
A girl ran up to Lina, waving as though she was a friend not seen for a long time. Her large green eyes burned immediate friendship into Lina. "My name is Ella," she said. Poppy laughed again, and clapped her hands. Ella smiled at the baby, and tapped her nose with a finger.
Lina relaxed a little bit. "My name is Lina," she said. Ella smiled at her.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Lina. We've been waiting for you for a long time."
Lina put Poppy down, and looked up at the sky. It began to turn orange, and shades of red. Ella looked up as well.
"Day!" she yelled. Lina looked confused. She had never seen a thing called "day", and the silver circle confused her just as well. Doon joined them, suddenly mesmerized again.
"That's what you call it?" Lina asked. Ella nodded.
"Day. When the sun comes out and fills the sky with warmth!" She started to turn around in circles with her hands spread out on either side of her.
Doon wanted to explore more. He trailed off, trying to find objects that would be useful to them. And then, he found a hole.
