Dark clouds covered the sky, and the soft breeze caressed the girl's cheek as the sprinkle of rain gently fell below her pale lavender orbs, mimicking tears. She stared hopelessly at the ground in front of her, the muddy tracks of footsteps still visible as the water continued to dampen the atmosphere. She could feel her body lose its build up tension as the warm liquid soothed the burns of utter disappointment that continuously rose in her chest, pushing them so far away that, for a few seconds, the memories of the past few years of failure vanish, and suddenly she was back in her mother's arms, receiving the love that seemed foreign after all the time she had been standing alone. Hinata saw warmth in the freezing abyss, the brightness reminding her of of Naruto-san; the vibrant blonde's wide signature grin, his optimistic personality, and the unbreakable drive she admired. When she pictured his smiling face (and his adorable whisker marks), she hardly noticed the soreness of her wrists and the aching of her muscles; just the faint remembrance of the previous occasions warmed the girl's heart enough to make her forget.

But soon the small girl's fantasies came to an end, much to her displeasure, as she caught sight of her cousin in the distance, distinguishing his identity by the dismal expression he held. She again wallowed in her own pity, feeling the blame and responsibility of Neji's misfortune as she felt the glare of his Byakugan observing her, armed with its usual gaze of passive indifference to mask the burning rage of hatred she knew he felt, but was hesitant to fully express. The initial sudden change into the waking world didn't surprise her however, as something never failed to remind her of reality, that daydreams are made to be disrupted and are utter fantasies that, no matter how hard you try, how often you wished, will never become truth. This fact never stopped her from trying, though.

She looked on, watching Neji's expression with her head dipped forward. She knew her cousin was well aware of her presence, and she felt insignificant as he chose to stare in a different direction with his bloodline active, feigning ignorance. Hinata's timid nature prevented her from announcing herself, with her being afraid to provoke him by pointing out his dismissal, and the inevitable disrespect he would take her words for would cause her to blame herself, even more so than she already did. She stood there silently, the sprinkling rain falling from the dark cloud of misery that always hovered above her, following Hinata everywhere she went, remaining in the depths of her mind to remind her of her never ending failure.
