I was watching dancing with the stars and this plopped back into my head after rolling around in my head....
It was the marine corps birthday ball. Her auburn hair was curled and swept out of her face. A red mini dress which made those damn legs look so good.
He was actually wearing a suit. For the first time since his last marriage. Wow.
She clicked across the dance floor which as a sign was empty.
Cockily he meandered across the dance floor.
Her face.
His face.
Eyes locked.
She leaned into him.
Magically he pulled her close.
" Dance with me if only for one night." she whispered.
Her smell distracted him.
He didn't answer with words but with his eyes.
Suddenly a latin dance came on.
"puuuurfect" he rolled his tongue.
Both eyes flashed and they remembered the last time they did the tango.
"Jethro we'll look like idiots" she pleaded but he had a little to much to drink.
" Too bad" he said he pulled her close and they danced.
15 minutes later ..
She had danced and instead of feeling sweaty she felt... refreshed.
"Ha ha ha ha" she flew her head back.
He kissed her neck.
" Dance with me again if only for one night." he begged
They flashed back into the present and took the first steps.
They dipped and swayed.
Crossed and twirled.
Laughed and smiled.
They looked deep into each others eyes.
She kissed him.
He kissesd her.
" Bye Jethro" she said and walked away.
If only for one night......
