The sun was setting.

The air was cooling as the sun's light and heat slowly disappeared. A light breeze blew across the landscape, causing the tall grass to wave across the meadow and up the rise, rustling through the leaves of the tree atop that rise, where a young woman lay looking up at the starry sky.

"They're so beautiful." She said her voice full of wonder.

The young man meditating at the base of the tree, opened his eyes and looked over at the young woman.

"You act like you've never seen them before, Tenten."

"Don't spoil my evening, Neji." Tenten sighed, glancing over at him.

"Hn."

She sighed again and closed her eyes. He watched her curiously.

"Tenten?"

Her eyes snapped open and she gazed up into the sky.

"Tenten?"

"There's just so many!"

Neji looked up through the branches of the tree. Tenten giggled.

"You can't see them from there."

"I can see everything." He smirked.

"Oh, really?"

"Really." But he still came to lie next to her.

She sighed again.

"There's so many. And they're so pretty." She glanced over at him, "Not even the view from Hokage Mountain is as pretty."

Neji nodded in agreement.

They stayed like that, lying next to each other, in a comfortable silence.

"Hey, a falling star! Make a wish Neji!"

Neji looked over at Tenten. She had her eyes squeezed shut as she made her wish.

Still watching her, he shifted closer and reached for her hand. She opened her eyes at the brush of his fingers against hers and turned to see him so close. He looked back up into the sky, beginning to move away.

A jolt went through his body as she grabbed his hand, entwining her fingers with his, resting her head on his shoulder.

"It's a beautiful night, isn't it?"

He relaxed.

"Yes. It is a beautiful night."
