Author Note:
Well, I wrote this for my beta, because she 3 Hinata. But I think everyone is OOC and she would be pissed about that. X( Oh well! Here's to you!
Thoughts (Hinata's thoughts)
She ran across the schoolyard in the darkness. Her legs burned, tears flowed down the side of her cheeks and floated off her face. She stopped and looked over her shoulder. Have I evaded them? She calmed her breath and stood straight.
"Where'd she go?!" She heard someone yell coming from the schoolyard entrance. She flinched then began to run again, turning to run behind the tall building. Her hair tie came loose, letting her long dark blue hair fall to her waist. She leaned against the brick wall and held her breath. Please, don't let them find me.
"Where is she?!" A sharp female voice yelled. The voice was closer to her location now. She heard footsteps approaching fast. She scooted over to a corner and sat down, hoping the darkness would hide her thin body. She sat down, burying her head in her lap. She wrapped her arms around her legs, making herself into a ball.
"Can we go now?" A male voice asked softly.
"No, I'm going to find her!" It made the balled up girl shiver. Sakura, Ino, Naruto…
"Psst!" She heard nearby. She tilted her head upward to the top of the tall building. The moonlight made the figure appear as a shadow. She squinted to see better then the figure came to better sight. Tenten… She stood up and jumped up to where Tenten leaned over the edge.
"Come on…" Tenten whispered, softly turning and walking to the other edge. Tenten looked down to the ground.
"T-Tenten? Why a-are you h-here?" Tenten turned around and looked at the pale-eyed girl softly.
"Come on now… we are practically sisters, and Neji asked me to help you out." Tenten whispered, walking over to her.
"N-nii-san told you?"
"Yeah, now let's go, they're gone…" Tenten said, jumping off the edge of the building. She landed perfectly. She continued to walk across the yard cautiously watching. Wow, I wish I was that good… The young Hyuga followed after Tenten. They exited the schoolyard and crossed the street to safety.
"What did they want with you?" Tenten looked at the young girl "Hinata? Are you listening? Hinata…"
"H-huh? Well, I don't k-know…" Hinata said, running her fingers through her dark blue hair.
"What? How do you not know why people hate you?"
"I j-just don't k-know." Hinata replied. The moon was bright above them.
"Well, here we are…" Tenten said, stopping in front of a dark looming building.
"Thanks, Tenten…" Hinata said, looking at her home.
"Uh-huh…" Tenten placed a soft hand on Hinata's shoulder. Hinata plastered a slight smile at Tenten and began at the door.
"Bye, Hinata. See you tomorrow." Tenten said, continuing to walk along to sidewalk outside the gate. Hinata opened her front door slowly, avoiding the creak of the old hinges
"Where were you, Hinata?" Her father said, atop the tall staircase.
"F-father…" Hinata looked up surprised. She shut the door after slipping into the small space she had created between the door and the doorframe.
"Well? Hinata, it's around 9 PM, haven't I told you not to stay out after 8:00?"
"Yes... father." Hinata said, walking over into her room. She walked into it and closed the door softly. She sighed and walked over to her desk. There were tons of scattered pages. She was just about sit down when there was a rapping at her bedroom door.
"Yes? Come in…" Hinata said. The door opened to reveal her cousin.
"N-Nii-san…"
"Hinata-sama… may I come in?" He said.
"Y-yes…" He closed the door and walked over to Hinata. She sat on her bed and he copied. He looked at Hinata.
"Hinata-sama, how are you?" He asked, breaking the silence.
"Fine."
"Don't lie…" Tears started to well up in her eyes.
"I'm fine…" She said fighting the tears. Neji placed a hand on Hinata's back and softly patted it.
"Tell me what happened…" Hinata couldn't fight the tears any longer. She quickly layed her head on Neji's lap and let the tears go. Neji looked down at her, Her rubbed her back softly. Hinata sobbed, turning her head in his lap, wiping her tears in his soft cotton pants. Neji whispered, "It's okay…"
How embarrassing… I'm crying on my cousin. Then they heard footsteps approaching the door. Hinata sat up straight and quickly wiped away the tears that were still free flowing. Neji stood, watching her wipe her tears away. Neji stood, watching her wipe the tears away.
"Don't tell father…"
