DISCLAIMER: Death Note and the character Light Yagami don't belong to me...They belong to the writer Tsugumi Oba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. Anyway, don't intend to earn any kind of payment with this fanfic. Thanks, Oba-sama and Obata-sama for creating this wonderful manga!

As he walked through the streets of Tokyo with so much despair, Light Yagami stopped for the first time to think about his life. Until that moment he always thought he'd been doing the right thing. Helping humanity to build a better world, without evil. Now, this idea seemed somehow distorted. Now, he realized how weak and cruel he was.

Perhaps, all he had done in the last five years was ending with his life. Deep down, he knew that nothing could last forever. One day eventually he would be discovered and when that day came, Ryuk would end with his life just as like himself ended with many others. And finally, that day had come.

Light Yagami didn't know where he was going. Just moved with some difficulty in the completely empty streets, aimlessly. It was hurting. Matsuda really surprised him. Never would have thought one day the charismatic policeman would use a gun. And more, would use a gun against him. As soon as he got a chance, Light left the abandoned warehouse, where he was with Near, the other members of SPK and his partners of the Kira's case, because he couldn't stand to look at them in that situation. He could not bear to look at the distorted faces coming in his direction. Disgust, comtempt, hatred.

His pain was getting worse. The red blood was mixing itself with the sweat in his clothes. He wouldn't be able to walk for much longer. With blurred vision, he saw a place apparently stranded. Was where he would die.

Leaning on the handrail, Light layed on a rusty stair. The sunlight of late afternoon reached his eye causing it to burn. A searing pain erupted in his chest and the man had to suppress the urge to scream. Ryuk had done what he had promised. Light Yagami's name had been written in the death note.

In the last seconds of his life, the only thing he was able to think was all those whose life he helped destroy. L, which really could have been your friend, after all. Misa, who only wanted his love. His father, his sister, his mother. Takada. Mello. And so many others. Innocent or not. Does all that wish to create a new world really worth it? Or was he wrong?

No. He wasn't wrong. If all these people suffered, it was because they had to suffer. Because did not agree with the creation of the New World. All names that were written in the notebook killer were people who deserved.

His eyes closed and Light Yagami plunged into the void.

I hope you like it..
Thanks for read!
