Gwen Tennyson sat nervously before Kevin Levin, waiting for some sign of anything. His aura was much too chaotic at the moment for her to discern anything concrete.

He sat, shocked to his core. And once the numbness wore off, his mind having accepted her statement for the truth despair hit him. His heart tore at itself, screaming in self-loathing; for death.

He knew he had probably been walking on thin ice when it came to her; after what he had done how could he have not been? Even though she was still so affectionate towards him and as fiery, feisty as ever, he had known the thinness of the line he treaded. But now the ice had broken through, the line had snapped; plunging him to his doom; she must hate him. Not only had he defiled her, tainted her but now she was carrying a child that was very likely to be born a monster if it didn't kill her before then.

But then again she was probably going to abort it; but that still wouldn't save him in her eyes.

He had to say something, anything. Maybe he could fix this, save their relationship; he had to try because he honestly didn't know if he could live without her anymore. He wouldn't fight to save the monster inside her, he wouldn't curse her with the duty of mothering something like the mess he had been; but he would fight to save them.

"I'm sorry," he croaked out hoarsely, hoping it was the right thing to say.

She laughed humorlessly, "Like I told you, I won't be expecting anything from you…"

His heart dropped to his feet; she was going to try to carry it to term? That was a suicide mission!

"You can't keep it." He declared, knowing he had to be the villain this time for her sake.

She glared at him, "You have no say in what I do; it is my body."

"Like hell, that thing'll kill you!" she had to understand, she couldn't go through with this.

"Kevin nothing usually goes wrong." She explained calmly, evenly.

"My DNA's cursed," he told her, "it'll kill you. I won't let you die because of something I caused." He moved towards her, knelt before her and grasped her hands in a begging motion, "Please, don't do this…"

She softened, understanding hitting, "Kev, I'll be okay."

He saw she was determined to do this and sighed, closing his eyes before opening them and saying softly, pleadingly, "Then let me help you with this, let me be involved…"

"You don't have to be…" she told him softly.

He smiled, "I want to be." It was true. If she was going to try this he was going to be there for her.

He didn't know what he would do if she died in this. Especially if the kid survived.

He didn't want to think about that outcome.

She was smiling at him, her eyes as loving as ever before. And so he knew he was doing the right thing for once.
