Author's Note: This story references Season 1 of Classic Who episodes 12 (The Edge of Destruction) and 13 (The Brink of Disaster). This was going to be a 100 word drabble, but the 10th Doctor just can't stop talking. XD

Disclaimer: The Doctor doesn't belong to me. Unfortunately.

"D'you know? One time, oh, hundreds of years ago now, doesn't seem that long ago really. Well, I say it doesn't, but sometimes it does. Seems twice as long, actually. Weeellll, I say twice as long—"

Rose rolled her eyes. "Doctor!"

"What? Oh. Sorry. What was I saying? Oh, right. One time, we nearly had the TARDIS disintegrate at the beginning of the universe, all because a spring in the 'Fast Return' button had gotten stuck." He grinned. "Can you imagine? A tiny little spring doesn't get sprung and we're all at each other's throats. Meanwhile the TARDIS is trying her best to tell us. Weeellll, trying to tell me, really. I was so thick, then, though: young and thick. Didn't even realise just how alive the TARDIS was—is. Mind you," he blew out a long breath, "it's a good thing I didn't pitch Ian and Barbara out the TARDIS. The aftermath of the Big Bang isn't something you want to see close up without a ship. Or in a ship with a faulty Fast Return spring, apparently."

Rose's gaze swept the TARDIS controls. "That spring's been fixed, yeah?"

"Oh yeah. Ages ago." He frowned slightly. "I think."
