This is my first work of fanfiction, ever. It didn't come out quite the way I'd hoped it would. This is a poem based on Darien's words to Nicias when he is on Ahnmik in Falcondance. It's supposed to be single spaced between the hyphens and Darien's title (which I'm not sure is right... ) is right-aligned, but it won't let me do that here. Enjoy my poem and review it if you'd like. Disclaimer: I do not own Falcondance or the Kiesha'ra. That happy little claim goes to the lovely Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

I borrowed a feather of your soul

Long ago

And kept it whole

Son of the son of she who shines in darkness

-

I made it dance for me

Long ago

I had to see

Son of the son of the Lady

-

It said to me, son of the Lady's son

It said you would destroy an empire

-

I thought it meant shm'Ahnmik

Long ago, but such hope sinks

Only heir to the Lady Araceli

-

But perhaps it meant my cobra's castle
