A/N: As I was thinking about the season premiere, there was one line that I could totally imagine Castle saying which stuck with me. I just couldn't resist… Anytime
"Thank you, Castle, by the way." She said and gave him a small smile. "For before…" She figured it was the polite thing to say, because, after all, he did safe her life.
It took him a moment to catch on before he realized what she was referring to. Once he did, though, a grin spread on his face and she noticed a playful sparkle in his eyes which she knew all too well. "Jumping your bones?" He asked and raised his eyebrows, though his smile never faltered.
She narrowed her eyes in Beckett fashion as she was thinking of a good reply.
Before she could, though, he already spoke. "Anytime." He said, the mischievous smile still in place.
At that, she rolled her eyes and turned away. Once she was faced away from him, her lips started to curl upward and she smiled in a way she only did with him. As she replayed the things he just said in her mind, a familiar warmth she hadn't felt all summer spread through her. She glanced over her shoulder to see him chatting animatedly with Ryan and Esposito, something she had frequently saw him doing before he had left. It was almost as if everything was just back to normal.
Yes, she thought, it was certainly nice to have him back…
