Nikolai strode reluctantly into the club. This was not the way he wanted to get over Bruce, but alas it seemed his only option. This was one of the best clubs in town, or so he heard, so he walked straight to the bar, not making eye contact with anyone and ordered a drink. He looked around the club, people making complete fools of themselves as they gyrated against each other. Is this how humans really spend their free time? He thought to himself. How am I ever going to find someone here? He sat sipping his drink when he saw a sleek looking man that looked to be around his age. The guy was cute, no question, but honestly what was the chance that he'd even look his way. He turned around and starting nursing his drink.
At that time Elliot saw the young man sitting all alone at the bar sipping at his drink paying no attention to the liveliness that surrounded him. He so badly wanted to approach the obvious newcomer, but for some reason he felt rather reluctant to, it was an emotion he rarely experienced, he was feeling shy. He walked around looking at all of the other people, noticing a few single men every once in a while and grinding up against them, but still he couldn't get that dark haired gorgeous man out of his mind. An hour, possibly even longer had passed, and he just couldn't get that boy out of his mind. He idled up to the bar and ordered a cocktail of sorts, asking the bartender to send another down to the hunky dark haired one, on him of course.
Nikolai stared into his empty drink glass, wondering how much longer he should stay or if he should just get up and leave already. The bartender all of a sudden jolted him out of his thoughts by tapping him on the shoulder. "Courtesy of that man there," he said pointing over the cute guy Nikolai had admired at first. What were the odds? He slowly sipped at the cocktail as the cute guy strode over to him, tripping over his feet on the way to the barstool. "Hey, thanks for the drink," Nikolai said holding up the cocktail. "Oh no problem, a cutie like you deserves a free drink," Elliot responded back holding up his drink to toast. Nikolai didn't quite get it so he just repeated what the other man had done.
"My name's Nikolai," said the dark haired one as Elliot drank from his glass.
"I'm Elliot," replied the blonde almost stumbling over his own name. He went to set his drink down and completely missed the bar, dropping his glass on the floor. "Oh my, I am so sorry, I'm not usually like this," he said to his newfound crush. "It's alright," Nikolai replied blushing slightly with a smile on his face. Elliot reached down to clean up the broken glass and at the same time so did Nikolai, they clumsily bumped heads and both leaned back giggling at the little clumsy mistake. They both reached for the broken cocktail glass and their hands touched.
They quickly parted their hands, both with a bright shade of crimson appearing rapidly on their cheeks. "Oh, I'm sorry," they both said at the same time, giggling like little school girls. They gazed into each other's eyes and just sat there smiling for what seemed like ages. They locked hands and both stood up, completely forgetting about the broken glass lying scattered at their feet. They entwined their fingers and strode through the crowd as if they were the only ones there, paying no attention to the chaos of dancing going on around them. They walked right out the doors into the night and just kept talking and babbling finding out how much they had in common.
