An: I'm really proud of myself. This is the first poem I've posted here on Fanfic. I hope it doesn't suck.
He watches with emotionless eyes,
As hearts break before him.
Part of his own heart aches,
Returning to life to remind him.
Nothing will ever erase,
The past that lays behind him.
Broken is his faith in love,
Friendship and the like.
What hurts the most,
Is that they could not understand.
Maybe that ,
Isn't true anymore.
Still the part of him that holds compassion,
Asks the questions that he must ignore.
Is it fair to share the pain with them?
Should they have to suffer too?
Now, can they understand,
All that he has been though?
His heart is breaking as he watches,
A friend that he cannot help.
Part of him calls out to him,
The other silenced by the pain.
It hurts to hold back the anger,
Anguish and the grief.
For when he thinks of him,
It makes him want to weep.
He is the sun though,
And his brightness is needed.
Of all the emotions that he must hold,
Hate is the strongest.
Who knew there could be an emotion,
That almost swallows his love?
A flash of pink beside him reminds,
Of why he holds this pain with pride.
Someday, he will show his friend,
That the pain can be put aside.
She tells her aching heart,
To stop fretting on this mess.
Someday the friend she knew,
Would be with them once again.
Today is another one of those,
Days that's hard to face.
Will her heart ever mend?
Or fall for another?
Is this how he's felt all these years?
She can finally see the other.
The pain nearly drowns out,
The good things that she has.
If it weren't for her sun,
She'd be numb by now.
So today she must go on,
Pretending she's ok.
Convinced that she would be the one,
To show him love someday.
He watches from the sidelines,
As his students suffer.
Is this his fault too?
To that he cannot answer.
How could he have known,
That they end up this way?
Broken and sad,
Dreaming of someday.
For now, he can only stand strong,
Teaching what he knows.
When the time comes,
they will stand together.
What divided them then,
Will the help them recover.
He will find his heart again.
He will find his place.
And she,
She will find her strength.
