Xena and Gabrielle are sitting around a fire eating a rabbit Xena had caught earlier. They are eating in silence. Suddenly there's a rustling sound from the bushes. Xena stands up and gets out her sword ready to fight. Joxer comes out from the bushes with his hands up.
GABRIELLE
Joxer?
XENA
What are you doing here?
JOXER
I heard you were here and wanted to see if you needed any help
Xena puts her sword away and glares at Joxer
GABRIELLE
Oh, sure! Why not?
XENA
(to Gabrielle)

GABRIELLE
Yeah, we'd love for you to help as long as you want to face the
Hydra we're going to fight
JOXER
Yeah, no problem...w-wait a minute, did you say H-Hydra?
XENA
Yeah, we did. That a problem?
JOXER
No no, just I err just remembered it's Jett's birthday and you
know what he's like
XENA
Oh, well that's too bad we would have loved you to join us
JOXER
I'd better get going, but I'll catch up with you later
GABRIELLE

Joxer goes back through the trees home.

Xena sits down next to Gabrielle

GABRIELLE

GABRIELLE

Well, you are annoying sometimes, but come on everyone's annoying at times
GABRIELLE
I suppose, you definitely annoy me sometimes

GABRIELLE

Xena launches herself at Gabrielle, knocking her onto her back on their bedroll, sits on her stomach and tickles her.
GABRIELLE
(laughing)

Gabrielle is laughing so much, her eyes are watering.
GABRIELLE
Xena...I can't...breathe
Xena stops tickling her and becomes serious.
XENA
Do you love me?
GABRIELLE
Yes
Xena leans forward and captures Gabrielle's lips in a tender kiss which becomes passionate. She moves her hand down to massage Gabrielle's breast. Xena goes to undo Gabrielle's top, but Gabrielle stops her.

GABRIELLE
Not here
XENA
Why?
GABRIELLE
Anyone could be watching us and we're not
far from Potidea. What if my mom, dad or Lila see us?
XENA

GABRIELLE
Xena my parent's don't know and if they did
they'd take me home and keep me locked in their house
and force me to marry some man.
XENA
They'd have to get through me first
GABRIELLE
You are not going to fight my family
XENA
Fine but as soon as we're in an inn you're
mine
Xena moves and lies next to Gabrielle on the bedroll, facing away from Gabrielle.
GABRIELLE

let my family find out.
