Chapter 1
Patch watched me carefully as I tapped my pencil to the tick of the clock in biology. We had been dating all through April, and he had saved my life twice, once with Chauncey, his freaky Nephilim vassal, and Dabria, his even freakier ex girlfriend. Patch was mine in exactly five minutes. We were going to be throwing a party to celebrate summer time. Vee, Rixon, Eliot, Patch and I were going to be there, all at Ezno's Bristow. I couldn't wait. I tapped and tapped the pencil. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Slowly the seconds ticked by. I huffed out an impatient sigh, leaning back in my seat, and casually turning around to see Vee. She smiled, pointed at the clock and made a little squee sound. I smiled and once again planted my elbow on the desk, planting my chin in my face.
Angel, why are you so restless? Patch asked into my mind.
"Party" I muttered to him quietly.
What was that Angel? He asks.
I scotch my chair until it's right next to him before once again muttering "party". I look over at him, and before I can stop him, our lips are touching in a soft kiss. He pulls back right as the bell rings and Patch, Vee, and I are out of our seats and out the door before anyone else. We had all already packed up our stuff and had brought our stuff to sex class. We walked down the hallway, Vee's arm linked in mine, while Patch and I held hands. We walked out into the parking lot and all climbed into Patch's jeep.
"Oh em gee, longest day of my life!" Vee chides, reclining in the back.
"Try longest class of my life!" I say, lifting my feet up onto the dashboard of Patch's car. I pulled my sexy sunglasses over my eyes and turned up the music. Like a Virgin came on, and I turned up the volume all the way up. Vee and I began singing along to it as Patch pulled to a stop at a stop light. After the song was over, Patch switched off the music, which earned a groan from Vee and I.
"As much as I like listening to your amazing singing voice, Nora, I have a question for you." I raise an eyebrow and he continues "Will you go with me on a road trip all summer?"
I was about to answer, but Vee grabbed me by the shoulders, hauling me over the consul of the car and into the back of the car. "Babe, I can assure you right now, he is going to try to 'do the big deed' with you if you go." Vee warns in a quiet voice.
"Yo Patch" I say, he answers with a hmph "Promise you won't try anything I don't want to do while we're away?"
"I promise to be the perfect gentleman." Patch says.
