Dear Readers,
This is the first chapter of my story so it is not as exciting as it will be further on but I would like if you would read, review, and go on and enjoy your day. This will be a very different love fan fiction than most Blood and Alice ones out there. The setting is our world a.k.a earth not the country of hearts. May I might add that Alice and Ace are siblings and are teenagers so that when you read this you won't be confused by the sibling pairing. I will eventually add in more characters from the country of hearts.
Disclaimer: I don't own any HNKNA characters (I wish I did though, can I buy them for 35 cents?)
Warnings: This is a rather clean chapter, but if you are extremely sensitive to the topic of kidnapping , car accidents, and death of loved ones then I advise you to be cautions.
Have you ever had a family member that you have never known come to live with you? Unfortunately, for Ace and Alice Liddell this was just the start.
It all started when the family had all sat together at the dining table to eat dinner, except for Alice who ate at the kitchen bar due to homework overload. Tracy and Bill Liddell watched as their lion of a son gobbled up his meal and tried his best to sit straight at the same time. Ace indeed had an appetite of a lion, but he was a growing boy. The seventeen year old was very handsome with short ash brown hair, reddish brown eyes, a white goofy smile, and a strong fit body. Then Ace's skin looked as if it had been kissed by the sun since it always stayed so nicely tan. There was no doubt that Ace got his good looks from his father, Bill. Bill shared the same ashy brown short hair and tan skin except he had a stern look to him even though he was gentle. On the other hand, Tracy didn't look anything like Ace. Her features were soft not strong and her hair was dirty blonde. Tracy looked like the average business woman and technically she was.
"Ace, Alice we have something we would like to talk to you about. Alice, dear, can you please come join us for a moment," Tracy announced.
The busy Alice groaned she had at least three hours worth of homework to do in an hour and a half time period before bedtime. Plus she didn't want to stay up late or wake up even early then she already had to, to do her homework. So she tried her best to avoid joining them at the table. "Mom please can I stay hear I have a lot of homework, I can hear the conversation just fine from over here at the kitchen bar," she pleaded.
"You can take a break from your work for a moment," Bill commented.
"It's alright Bill she has a big Calculus test tomorrow that she stressing over, and you should go to your room when your done eating Alice," Tracy stated.
Alice mumbled an "okay" as she continued with her work; her dinner lay untouched beside her. To be honest she wasn't much of a food person anyways, if that makes any sense. Tracy gazed upwards for a minute then sighed and began to speak.
"You know your Cousin Jeff's wife Miranda," She asked, earning a "yay" from Ace," Well his wife's sister has died recently in a car crash."
Both teenagers shared glances with each other; they immediately felt sorry for Jeff's wife. "That's sad to hear what was Miranda's sister name," Ace asked, wanting to know more?
"Santana was her name," Bill replied," and she has left behind her only son who's your age Ace."
"The boy's father passed when he was three so that leaves him parentless now," Tracy added sadly.
"Oh," Ace spoke with a mouth full of spaghetti.
"Jeff and Miranda can't take him in; they don't have the time, space, or money. But, we do," Tracy claimed.
Suddenly, Ace dropped his fork and chewed the remaining food in his mouth then swallowed. "You can't be serious," Ace groaned!
Tracy crossed her arms and stared menacingly at her son," I am not joking around your cousin will be coming to live here in a few weeks."
"Mom, Dad did you even think of how uncomfortable that will make Alice," Ace whispered to them.
"We did son but Alice needs to learn to not be so shy and afraid of people who have no intention of harming her," Bill responded.
Ace's feature turned angry, his almost red eyes widened, his strong jaw clenched. "What you just said was cruel it's not her fault that she acts that way," the teenager spoke quietly through his clenched teeth. Bill looked down at his plate, he was a gentle being, and he too knew his words had been cruel.
"Your father and I know that dear, but Ace this poor boy has lost his parents and we have tried to set him up else where but no one will take him in," Tracy spoke trying to change the mood of her son.
Then before Ace opened his mouth Alice cut in," I'm okay with the boy living here besides he is family," Alice replied.
Tracy smiled, it was nice of Alice to approve of someone else living in the house since she was so shy towards people. "Thank you dear I know it's hard for you," Tracy spoke, turning to smile at her daughter.
"Wait a darn second here, where is his room going to be, the guest room, because it's being remodeled right now," Ace asked?
Tracy and Bill both exchanged glances until Tracy, who obviously ran this show, spoke. "His room is going to be the workout room which we will need to move a bed into."
"Hell no," Ace yelled!
Alice couldn't help but roll her eyes at her brother as her parents scolded him.
Finally her father spoke up," We can make room in the garage for all your exercise equipment."
"What is this boy like anyways, what is his name, where is he from," Ace asked?
Bill explained that the boy lives in London in a town house, and that his name is Blood Dupree.
The two siblings both snorted at the same time," Okay whose name is Blood, sounds like a vampire to me."
"British one at that," Alice added, laughing silently.
"His caretaker says he goes by Dupree, don't laugh," Tracy ordered.
"Whatever. Sounds like a stuck up rich British snob to me," Ace assumed.
"You don't even know is he's rich," Bill argued.
"Oh come one if he is from Melinda's family he defiantly has money," Ace spoke.
"Enough, we are done discussing this, we will continue talking about this later, Ace your excused, go feed the dogs," Tracy spoke.
The wooden chair scratch against the floor as Ace pushed it back and stood up, taking his plate with him. He walked over to the kitchen's island where the sink was located and dropped his plate in. Then Ace walked around the island to where Alice sat, studying away.
"You're not eating the meatballs. Crazy," Ace commented, taking a meatball off her plate and shoving it into his mouth.
She hardly recognized that her brother had even said anything to her for she was still river deep in work. Still at the table Tracy sat sipping the remainder of her wine. Bill sat up and excused himself, he to brought his plates to the sink, then went back to work at the main computer in the T.V room.
Eventually Tracy rose and began to put away the salad dressings and leftovers. "Baby how is your homework going," She asked, tiredly?
"I'm almost done want some help with those," Alice offered, her eyes gestured towards the plates her mother was currently washed.
"No dear," Her mother replied, sighing. "You haven't even touched your dinner," she added.
"Not hunger," Alice quickly replied.
Alice noticed how tired her mother looked. Usually, her dirty blonde hair glowed but today it looked green and unhealthy. Then, her mother was underdressed compared to what she usually wore which was tailored lady suits that she wore to work. Her lips were in a tight line and her eyes were droopy.
When the dishes were done and put away, Tracy stood staring at her daughter who had yet to notice the attention. "Are you really okay having Blood live here," She asked?
The teenager looked up from her homework to meet her mother's concerned eyes. "I don't know. But, I can at least try. I would get used to it in time," Alice thought as she spoke.
"Just take it at your own pace, no one will rush you," Tracy spoke. "Who knows, you might fall in love with him."
"Oh god mom seriously," Alice yelped glaring at her teasing mother.
Tracy perked an eyebrow and curled her lips into a small smile, and then she turned around and rummaged through a drawer until she pulled out a picture. She walked around the island to where Alice sat and placed the picture on top of a Calculus book. "That's him," Tracy murmured, before exciting the kitchen. Alice watched as her mother left the room, before she turned back to look at the picture. The picture showed a tall teenaged boy leaning against a tree. Alice had to admit the boy was handsome and looked well beyond his age. With long black as night hair that fell to the end of his neck and crystal blue eyes. He wore a school uniform that was a blue blazer and blue pants, and black dress shoes. The boy had flawless white skin that looked as it never had a break out at all. Blood was not smiling in this picture in fact he was peering in annoyance at whoever had taken the picture. It looked as if he was a snob, like Ace had said. But, maybe the death of his mother would make him less snobby. Alice hoped anyways.
Done with her homework Alice walked to her room taking the picture of Blood with her. Once she was in her room she shredded off her large blue t-shirt, revealing a black sports bra and a well sculpted upper body. Alice was not like your common girl, it fact she down to the bone tomboy. Her hair was not long and graceful; it was cut short so her hair was above her ears. What she wore only existed of men's clothing, besides the sports bras. She moved to her closet and pulled out a warm thermal to wear for bed. Also, she changed her bottoms from Van's guy jeans to her school's gray sweatpants with the logo of a Falcon on them. Alice looked around her room for the crowbar she always had hiding some place. Her room wasn't big; it was fairly small actually with all the furniture in it. The twin sized bed rested in the corner with its blue satin sheets and pillowcases. Next, to the bed was a small cherry wood night stand with a small lap, Kleenex, and an iHome, and her glasses. On the other side of the nightstand was a tall bookshelf which contained many books and some pictures frames containing her parents wedding day, Ace holding a deer that he had hunted, and her middle school graduation picture.
Then her desk lay on the opposite side of the room, the desk had many textbooks and papers lying on it and her Dell laptop. Her room was simple and homey which was what Alice preferred. Remembering where the crowbar was she reached behind her bookshelf and felt the cold metal tool. Then, she lifted the rug that lay in the center of the room. There she spotted the correct floor board and eased the crowbar under it. Once the board was removed it revealed a small brown box which Alice lifted up onto the floor. In the secret box contained many childhood pictures of her family and her, her great Grandmas pearl necklace, a old handkerchief that her first crush gave her at a fancy party, and her first ceramic doll. Alice reached for the photos and flipped through them until she came to a picture of her when she was a little girl. Alice marveled at how beautiful she was with long hazel hair rested down on her hips and green iridescent eyes. But, now she was nothing like that anymore.
Alice could clearly remember what had made her change from beauty queen to tomboy. It happened when she was seven years old. When she was seven years old, she was kidnapped. Fortunately the police had found her after two weeks of searching. But, those two weeks had been the longest two weeks she had ever known. She could barley think about what had happened, it made her shiver all over. She could remember being all alone, helpless, wanting death to come so she wouldn't have to suffer. It had marked her for life. Quickly she put away the secret box back into its hiding place, and sealed the board over it for she heard a scratch on her door.
Alice opened her door only to find her Alaskan Husky Shasta to be waiting to be let in. He happily busted into her room and jumped up on her bed which was where he liked to sleep. Smiling at her dog Alice turned off the main light and joined her dog in bed. She wouldn't think anymore she would just rest and hopefully get the sleep she really wanted.
P.S
Tell me what you think? I promise you it will get more exciting!
