So, this is just the very first beginning parts of a tentative plot idea. I really like it thus far, but it needs a lot of development... but anyway, tell me what you think. Should I continue?
"Gaea, after awakening, started a campaign which promised equal rights for all, plenty of food, and a bunch of other stuff that made her sound like Karl Marx; and eventually she lead the entire world into a war. After overthrowing all the human governments, she and her army of giants, titans, monsters, and demigods went up against Olympus and eventually triumphed. The camps were crushed and the demigods enslaved, as the gods, laden with shackles of Adamantite, were lead to Tartarus. Gaea even created another Pan, just so she could say she'd enslaved all of the gods.
"Some say that will be her undoing.
"Those people are dead now.
"However, a few lucky demigods managed to escape her clutches. And now, we wait."
The slight, red-haired woman sat back a bit from the light of the fire, her tale finished, and re-adjusted the strap of her overalls.
"But I thought you were a mortal?" said a small blob from across the fire.
Rachel sighed and examined the speaker. The blob was actually a young girl—blonde, though you couldn't see it under the cap on her head, with eyes that were an oddly beautiful mixture of gray and green. She'll be beautiful in a few years, she thought. But right now, what a pain in the ass!
"Yes, Xandra, I am a regular old mortal. Except that I'm the Oracle, remember? So I count as a demigod... sort of."
The child peered up at her with big, green eyes and promptly said, "I like my name."
Conscious of the encroaching darkness, Rachel stood to grab another log for the fire. "Oh yeah? Why's that?"
"'Cause it's unique!" the girl squeaked happily. "How many Anaxandra's could there possibly be?"
Rachel shook her head. "Good point, kiddo. But sometimes I think you're too smart for your own good."
"Weird, isn't it, considering who her father is?" a new voice teased, approaching the camp.
"Mommy!" Anaxandra cried, running into the new woman's arms.
"You know, that's not exactly nice," said the man directly behind her. "I'm not that dumb."
All three women gave him a look.
The man grumbled and sat down.
"Well, anyway, welcome back. Have fun with your child, bye!"
The couple laughed at the retreating shock of red. "Thanks for looking after her, Rach!"
"Anytime, Percy. Good night!" she called back.
