A/N: Wow! I can't believe the huge response I got to the first Bones fanfic I posted, so here's another!
Disclaimer: As always, nothing is mine.
Angela stood outside her best friend's office, watching the scene inside unfold with a smile on her face.
She had come down to Brennan's office to show her the sketch of their latest murder victim. What Angela found was Booth and Brennan in the middle of what looked like a huge fight. Brennan was using a lot of hand gestures, the bangles on her arm clinking together, and her blue-gray eyes were flashing with anger. Booth had his arms crossed over his chest and his eyebrows were furrowed as he spoke. Well… yelled.
They were fighting about where to go for lunch, Angela decided.
She watched for a few more minutes, her smile growing as each one took their turn to yell at the other. When would they ever realize how perfect they were for each other?
Hodgins came up behind Angela and wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his head in her neck. She sighed and leaned in to his touch.
"Why are you standing here with that sly little grin on your face?" he murmured into her ear. He followed her gaze before she could answer. "Oh."
"I will NOT be seen eating at McDonald's!" Brennan's raised voice could be heard through the walls. Angela stifled a giggle as Booth's face reddened considerably. He came back with a retort of his own, though it was considerably quieter than his partner's was. Angela didn't have to hear what he was saying to figure it out.
"Why are you so interested in those two?" Hodgins asked, lightly kissing the bare skin of her neck.
She turned to him and frowned. Why was she so intent on them hooking up? "Just look at them."
Hodgins lifted his head and watched the fight progress. Brennan now had her hands on her hips in a posture that said she was not backing down anytime soon. Booth was shaking his head at whatever she was saying.
"McDonald's does too serve real food!" Booth was heating up now.
"And?" Hodgins questioned. His fingers automatically sought out Angela's and entwined them together.
She searched for the right words. It was so simple. "They're just so right for each other," she finally answered.
"They're fighting about where to eat lunch," pointed out her fiancé.
"I know." She sighed at the romance of it all.
"I think they just need to sleep together," Hodgins said uncharacteristically after a few more minutes of bickering from the two of them. "There's so much unresolved tension. They just need to sleep it out and everything will be back to normal.
Angela turned to glare at him.
He backpedaled quickly. "I mean, then they could have a relationship. Aww, forget it," he said seeing the look on her face.
Satisfied, Angela turned back to the office. Brennan plopped down into her chair with a huff. Booth crossed and uncrossed his arms over his chest and shifted his weight from foot to foot.
Well, if they couldn't see just how perfect they were for each other on their own, someone would just have to point it out for them.
Angela broke from Hodgins' embrace, placed a hand on the office door, and pushed.
Looks like I have some work to do.
