How to Write a Story like Anthony Horowitz
A/N: Welcome to the third installment of How to Write a Story Like series. This one is parodying the predictability of the Alex Rider stories.
Follow these easy steps to write a novel like Anthony Horowitz:
Step 1: You must have a badass teenage hero. They must be British, otherwise how can you relate to them? They must also work for MI6, because everyone knows that MI5 is for wimps. They HAVE to be able to fight, otherwise how will they PWN their enemies?
Step 2: Create said enemies. You must create a convincing motive, ie, world domination, world domination and MORE world domination. Maybe they are pissed off with the government? Or maybe they totally hate England? Or they just want the moolah AND extremely bloody revenge? The possibilities are endless! But how to show this? They should be good looking and popular because how are the bosses not going to believe said teenage spy.
Step 3: You now need a plot! How about this? Bad stuff happens, and then spy is sent in. Just so those bosses don't sound heartless; they need to say when anything happens, they will get them out. But of course they don't.
Step 4: Wrapping up your story. You need to wrap up all of your loose ends, but leave a way for you to continue the story in a sequel. How about you kill the antagonist, and then say that the group that the bad guy was working for wants revenge? But at the same time, the spy bosses should say that the teenage spy is let off the hook, but he will keep working for them. But the bad guy ALWAYS dies, because that is how the work works, of course! Remember, good guys always come out on top. You must also remember to kill off the bad guy by accident because homicidal teengagers=bad.
