Vengeance: A Battle of Wits

Draco and Hermione stage a battle of wits. No one must know of their secret relationship. This verbal spat will diminish any suspicions their classmates have. Their peers are awed by the passionate hate between the two. Who will 'win' this fake battle?

A/N: This is differrent than what i usually write. I was bored and this popped into my head. It's abit random, but o well. Enjoy. :)

They circle each other predatorily in the dark. The audience listens fearfully. They wait to see who will win this battle. They lie to corner the other and pounce. This dangerous battle of wits has brought everyone to the edge of their seats.

The audience does not know that this was a plot. A ploy to show how much they 'hated' each other. In secret, they were in love. But nevertheless, the school mustn't know their relationship.

"Who are you?"

"I am vengeance."

Sarcasm

"Oh, thats nice to know. So what are you avenging?"

"The pain and the misery you caused me."

"And how did I do that?"

"By becoming better than I. It was I who was the best, until you came. I admired you, but you put me through all this misery, my admiration for you has diminished."

Snicker "Whatever you say."

Malice

"This shall be fun."

"What shall be fun?"

"Revenge is always sweet."

"So I've heard."

"Don't be a bitch, you bitch."

Sarcasm

"Oh, great word usage you've got there."

"I've always hated your sarcasm."

"I've always hated your scrawny arse."

"I've always hated your goody-goodness."

"I've always hated your Slytherin badass-ness."

"You disgust me."

"I thought you admired me. How could you hate all those things if they make me who I am?"

"..."

Snicker

"I admired you. But you ruined the admiration by being the devil that you've become."

"Sure..."

"Don't mock me. I am your superior, your better."

Anger

"I will always be better than you, Malfoy."

"We'll just see about that won't we?"

"It's quite dark in here; do you think you'll be able to see anything at all?"

"Your sarcasm is fouling the room."

"Your breath is doing more damage than my speech."

"You-"

"Actually, to be more precise, your presence is doing the most damage..."

"..."

"Your speechless now. I love it."

"Grr..."

"Perhaps if you stay silent long enough I might consider loving you. It's magnificent when you shut your mouth."

Annoyance

..."Sarcasm doesn't become of you."

"Living doesn't do you any good, either."

Silence

"..."

"Good. This is how it should be all the time."

The battle was won. The war of wits came to an end. They smirk at each other. Their job was done.
