The Yearly 365 Challenge
Prompt #50 (Scenario) I'm trying to recruit members for my club but you keep stealing away all my potential recruits (AU)
...
"Look I get that there is enough room for plenty of clubs in this school." Betty sighed her hands at her sides in a loose fist. "But I don't see the point of you so willing to steal anyone whom is actually interested in my club."
Chocolate brown eyes lifted to meet her own blue green eyes. "Don't you now?"
Frowning darkly. "You are so infuriating." Blue green eyes flashed down into the chocolate brown ones.
Veronica smirked. "Sit down Betty." She pushed out the chair across from her. "I'm sure that we can work something out." She waited for the very stubborn blonde to sit across from her. "Now was that so hard?"
Betty rolled her eyes. Her arms folded tightly across her chest.
"How are you B." Veronica asked in a soft tone.
Betty tightened up. "Don't." She said in a dead steady tone.
"I'm not the enemy here B." Veronica leaned forward. "This was the only way I could think of to have you finally talk to me."
Hurt and broken blue green eyes stared into open compassionate brown ones. "I said don't." Betty pleaded in a hurt voice. She tried to lock down once more.
"I'm never giving up on you B." Veronica tearfully spoke. "I'm never going to let you down. No matter how much you try to push me away. I'm never leaving."
Betty's eyes lowered. "Don't make promises that you can't keep."
"I'm keeping it." Veronica firmly spoke. "Remember what I told you when I first moved here?"
Betty shook her head.
"You have an excellent memory Betty Cooper." Veronica stared at the bowed blonde pony tail head. "I told you that you and I were fated to be best friends. That we were fated to be in each other lives for the long time." Leaning forward. "I don't remember 730 days as a long time."
Betty looked up with fire in her eyes. "Don't."
"Why are you trying so hard to kick me out of your life? Your soul?" Veronica demanded heat in her own eyes now. "I have a right to know."
Betty snared. "No you don't." Her right eye brow rose high on her forehead.
"I scare you that much?" Veronica stood to her feet and made her way around the table. She leaned against the side as she leaned forward into Betty's personal space. Her right hand gently traced the blonde's tight jaw line. "I'm too real for you to handle is that it?" She whispered.
Betty tightened up even more.
"Talk to me B." Veronica softly said.
Betty lifted her eyes to meet the chocolate ones a few inches from her own. "You aren't here Veronica. You are dead." She glared into the image of her dead best female best friend.
"I'm never leaving you B." Veronica whispered.
"You all ready left me." Tears rolled down Betty's cheeks. Her breath hitched. "You are dead. Gone." She shook her head. "You aren't even a spirit."
"I'm here." Veronica softly spoke tears rolling down her cheeks. "I'm here."
Betty shook her head. "Not in the way that I need you." She awoke chocking sobs bursting forth from her chest. Her knees lifted to her chest. Her arms wrap tightly around them as her head bowed into her pillow. Her soul crushed through the heartbreaking sobs.
"I'm always here B." Veronica's spirit look upon a broken Betty weeping on her bed.
