A/N This is a poem I wrote for extra credit in English class a few weeks ago. There isn't any specific characters, but it can be anyone who lost a lover, though it obviously is from a girl's perspective. I put it as Angelina/Fred because I'm a big fan of that pairing, but you can think of it as anyone.

In the moonlight, there I stood
Wondering if the world was still any good
While stars twinkled overhead
And long ago visions danced in my head.
The dreams I was thinking of
Were wonderfully made of sorrow and love.

In the dreams we were lovers
And in our dreams there were no others.
For us there was just one thing
And that was the lovely engagement ring.
Underneath the waving tree
His loving, gentle arms encircled me.

Next comes the unwelcome one.
And when I heard what he had gone and done,
Off to the Battle I ran
Wondering why he had to be such a man.
And in the midst of that day,
I too went on that awful day of May.

When he died my heart was torn
And now I feel ever so forlorn.
Now I wonder why he went
And whether someone else should have been sent
To go guard that passageway
Before the dawn of that horrible day.

I look up into the sky
Wondering why my good friend had to die.
When would I see him again?
I slowly turn and go back to the den
Knowing and hoping I would.
It would be a long, hard wait, but I could.
