Overall summary: Takeru Tenkuji was a normal high school student with his best friends Onari and Akari. Takeru had grown up as an orphan ever since his father died in a horrible accident when he was a child. One day while doing a school field trip, Takeru is attacked and killed while trying to protect his friends and classmates. However, instead of passing on into the afterlife, Takeru wakes up as a ghost, not being seen or heard by the living. He then saw that the ones who killed him are the phantoms known as the Ganma. Before they can attack Takeru again, he is approached by two mysterious figures known as Edith and Yurusen. Edith had chosen Takeru to become Kamen Rider Ghost and put an end to the Ganma's plans.

Tenkuji Takeru/Kamen Rider Ghost
Description: Takeru is the only son of Ryu, who died in a terrible car accident with him becoming very injured and was now left alone as a child at the age of six living in his parent's home. Growing up, Takeru used to love history and hear stories about important historical figures from his father. Nine years later, as a freshman in Kyoto High, Takeru with his two best friends Onari and Akari went along on a field trip with his classmates, and soon found himself and his entire class a stand down with a group of men terrorizing the historical museum of Japan, while seeing others scared and confused of what to do, Takeru dashed into action trying to let others escape the museum but he was fatally shot by one of the men in black. Onari and Akari dashed to Takeru to save his life, but he passed away after being hit in the chest laying in Akari's arm. However, instead passing on into the afterlife, Takeru woke up as a ghost and learned that the people who killed him were possessed by monsters known as the Ganma. In order to fight them and stop the royal family's plans, Takeru must become Kamen Rider Ghost and find all 15 of the heroic eyecons.
Makoto Fukami/Kamen Rider Specter
Description: Makoto and his little sister Kanon had grown up alone after their father suddenly disappeared. Makoto had to look after his sister. They were poor and Kanon had issues with her poor health. Then after the disappearance of his father, Makoto and his sister were visited by a man in black named of Chikara Saionji. Chikara told them that they can stay in the human world or come with him to his world. Makoto and Kanon then followed Chikara to his world. Chikara was then revealed to be the collaborator of King Adonis's Kingdom, then out of an appearance Alain and his sister "Alia" introduced themselves to the young Makoto and Kanon, Makoto was upset with the action of leaving his world, but was grateful to stay with King Adonis. Eight years later, Makoto is now an adult and a warrior who works besides King Adonis and his family. He was given the specter eyecon and a task to go to the human world and collect all 15 eyecons and retrieve the power for his King's Kingdom as he was to be thought of a hero by the name of "Kamen Rider Specter." Now he fights for his King and his Kingdom then soon will retrieve the power of the ghost eyecons.
Prince Alain/Kamen Rider Necrom
Description: Alain is the youngest son of Grand Majesty Adonis and is prince of the Ganma. Alain had never gotten to know his mother as she died shortly after his birth. Growing up, Alain was in the shadow of his father and siblings, and he wanted to one day take his father's place as lord of the Ganmas. He was alone when he grew up, so he wandered off to the human world to see what they were like. During those earlier years, Alain met Makoto and Kanon who were the only two people who were kind to him. Though by his father's hands, he believed that humans were beneath them and their world must be extinguished in order for the Ganma world to flourish. Though not everything is as it seems as Alain has conflicting feelings and motivations as he interacts with Makoto, Takeru, and the others. As Kamen Rider Necrom, Alain fights for what he believes in and in to become the king that everyone will respect and admire.

Akari Tsukimura
Description: Akari is one of Takeru's best friends who Takeru had known for since they were children. The two always hanging out with their friend Onari. While Takeru and Onari were more open to the mystical or supernatural, Akari didn't believe in it and only believed in logic as she wants to study to be a scientist. When Takeru was shot and killed, Akari took it the hardest, only to be surprised and confused as Yurusen allowed her to see Takeru as a spirit. Though she is also sweet and kind, she knows when to get in someone's face when she's annoyed or angered and isn't afraid to tell them off. She also agrees to help Takeru stop the Ganma but still isn't as willing to accept that ghosts are real.
Onari Yamanouchi
Description: Onari is the male best friend of Takeru, and respects him as like a king towards him. Even though Onari is not like his two best friends Takeru and Akari who are smart or well mannered, Onari has a heart of gold with the sense of adventure between him and his friends. On the day that his friends including himself went on the field trip with his classmates, Takeru told Onari and Akari to get the class out of the building and run for help, while his best friend is lying there dying, Onari and Akari dashed towards him with the police behind them to escort the men in black while being arrested for the crime they had committed. Onari promised Takeru that he'll avenge his death and promise that he'll fight back, later unknowing that his best friend can become a ghost, he can still see and hear his dead, but not forgotten best friend and to which Onari later became an ally for his superhero best friend Takeru.
Shibuya Hachioji
Description: Shibuya is one of the members of "Kyoto Paranormal University". He is the best friend of Narita and is the smarter one of the duo. He is a prodigy in the field of paranormal research, but is rather timid. Together with Narita, they investigate reports of supernatural activity in the city.
Narita
Description: Narita is one of the members of "Kyoto Paranormal University". He is the best friend of Shibuya and he is the brawns of the duo. He helps out with the things Shibuya is incapable of doing, which usually involves carrying random equipment and do the things Shibuya is too scared to do.
Kanon Fukami
Description: Kanon Fukami is the younger sister of Makoto. She was a sweet and innocent girl who made Makoto happy when they were alone with nothing and no one. After meeting Alain and Alia, she and her brother were brought to the Ganma world and lived there. However, due to her poor health, she passed away. Without her, Makoto went down a dark path serving King Adonis and as Kamen Rider Specter, he hopes to use the 15 eyecons to bring her back.
Princess Alia
Description: Alia is the daughter of Grand Imperial Majesty Adonis and older sister to Alain. She like her family, were made to loth and look down on humanity and wanted to purify it and protect their world. Although, Alia was put her concern for family as more important. Especially her little brother Alain as she promised their mother to look after him. When Alain changes his mind about humanity and betrays his father, Alia follows him, wanting to understand the good and beauty of the human world he saw.
Fumi Fukushima
Description: Fumi is an old sweet lady who Alain, Makoto and Kanon would spend around. She owns a small food stand by a park, with her most famous item being her takoyaki. She is a normal citizen but learns of who Takeru and the others truly are and doesn't mind it. Fumi only wishes to make everyone happy with her takoyaki and her words of advice.
Yurusen
Description: age, eternal. Yurusen is the gatekeeper and guardian over the spirit world and the living one. Yurusen serves as the spiritual embodiment of all the good and positive sides in people's souls living to watch over and protect the innocent. When he sees someone in peril or in dire need, he is a gentle kind young spirit with the enthusiasm and energy of a young child who just wants to have fun and make people happy. He has always been called by many who know him as a real life version of Casper. However, despite him being so nice, he also has always felt rather lonesome not being able to be in contact with any of the living people. He sees now that he has Takeru with him he finally has a chance at a real friend.
Edith
Description: age 996. Edith was the great wise sage who originally fought the gamma well over 1 thousand years ago who shared his knowledge of communicating and controlling the vengeful spirits of the underworld with those whom he deemed worthy legends say his teachings lead to spiritual enlightenment of those who were lost or haunted by the past and allowed them to let go of their dark sides and sin he was called the wise man of the mountains when the gamma attacked he fought them off by also giving his life by creating the very first ghost eyecon that sealed them away.

Grand Imperial Majesty Adonis
Description: The Emperor and ruler of all the Dark sadistic spirits that are the Ganma. Adonis is considered to be even by his own family as a total amoral psychopath who only craves one thing, absolute and total rule over all whom he deems inferior to himself and his legacy. When he was a boy, he was considered to be born Schizophrenic as he would constantly have psychotic and dangerous episodes where he would attack his classmates and even his own father and subject them too torturous experiences. He was obsessed with causing as much death and chaos as possible just for his own gain. Eventually, he became involved in cult like followings in researching and learning about the sinful vengeful spirits called the Ganma and wished to gain their power as his own.
Prince Adel
Description: The second born in his family. Adel has always had an envious and hateful relationship with his younger brother Alain, wanting nothing more than to see him suffer and die a horrible death so he may take his place as his father's successor. Wanting to earn his approval and respect after being neglected heavily by him in favor of Alain. He is a treacherous sort willing to go against his own family, even if it means taking his rightful place in his mind.
Prince Argos
Description: Argos is the eldest son and child of Grand Imperial Majesty Adonis. When Alain and his siblings were young, Argos was imprisoned and casted aside believing he was too dangerous to be let loose. Feeling betrayed, he vowed to overthrow his father and take revenge on Adonis and his siblings. He is a masterful and very conniving manipulator and schemer, he has inherited the absolute worst side of his old man, being even crueler and a lot more sadistic than even Javert or Adonis. Caring only about himself and using everyone including his parents and family as puppets intending to use them fully in his own chess game to stage a total takeover and sacrifice the lives of everyone around him to the underworld so he may gain the power that is needed to be an immortal god of sin. He has stole a forbidden eyecon from a vault locked deep in the afterlife and uses its power for his twisted end game.
Javert
Description: cold hearted and sadistic to the very core, Javert is the personal assassin and second in command of Adonis. He is a ruthless and uncaring psychopath who is equal to his master in terms of cruelty. He lives to see nothing more than people suffer and beg for mercy at his feet and then cackle in insanity as he tortures and violently rips their souls apart. Javert never says a word always remaining silent and watching everyone he targets before striking and ending their life. He was a loyal servant to Adonis's family who will always follow orders and will complete a mission without failure.
Gyro
Description: Gyro is a loyal bodyguard to Adonis and his family. Like Javert, Gyro fully follows the family's orders without fail and with no questions asked. Becoming Ganma Ultima, Gyro is a skilled fighter and does his part in order to beat Takeru and prevent him from gaining the 15 heroic eyecons. He is a tough brute who is not easy to be taken down or be upset.
Saionji
Description: a scientist that worked with King Adonis' on a project involving resurrection and reincarnation after the loss of his wife and daughter. He believe that he can discover a way to bring back not only his family but the lost ones of everyone else. The result were the Ganmas, who are the souls of lost ones only tampered and corrupted. After seeing the end result King Adonis canceled the project and ordered that he destroy everything related to it. Saionji pretended to destroy his research and tricked prince Alain into helping him complete his research by promising to bring back his mother and the dead loved ones of other people.
The Ganmas
Description: the souls of people long dead brought back by Saionji experiments. They live their lives in pain and suffering because of Saionji's experiments and are trying to finish their unfinished business in hope that by completing them that they'll be able to return to the afterlife or end the suffering.
