On the planet Mobuis evil lies. That evil is Dr. Eggman's Chaos Catcher, a machine designed to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Inside Eggman's base, the Mobian hero Sonic the Hedgehog infiltrates his fortress.

Sonic runs into the fortress. A sentry robot spots him. He home attacks it. Three flying robots try to shoot lazers at him, but instead blow each other up. "You're too slow!" A giant one stands in his path. He spin dashes and jumps into the center of the robot, resulting in a crash that can be heard for miles. "C'mon, step it up!" Another two giant robots crash through the wall and chase him. Sonic accidentally steps onto a spring and flies up and over the base.
Sonic is sent hurdling through the air. Luckily for him, Tails and Amy come to his aid on the Tornado, Tails' aircraft. Quickly Tails fires a capsule in Sonic's direction, which releases a Power Ring. One ring, to rule them all.
With renewed strength, incredible agility, and invisibility, Sonic breaks into the main room of Eggman's Base.
"Ohohohoho! You're too late this time, Sonic!" Eggman taunts as he inserts the 7th Chaos Emerald into the Chaos Catcher, then puts his finger over a button. "As soon as I press this button, it'll be all over for you!"
"...Then why don't you?" Sonic retorts as he dodges more laser beams from Eggman's robots.
"Uh..." Suddenly Sonic steps in front of Eggman and his machine so the camera/laser device targets him, then jumps out of the way. However, Eggman ducks in the nick of time, resulting in the lasers striking the Chaos Catcher instead. "WHAT! You pesky plumbers- uh, I mean... I hate that hedgehog!" A bright light engulfs the Base and the entire planet of Mobius-
