Eyes Of Glass, Hearts Of Ice

By SMYGO4EVA

Love is fickle.

Luna has always that to me in warning. You can love someone so much that it hurts, and you can fall in love with another to ease the pain.

I never believed that at first, but I was a foolish little girl. A crybaby and a naïve little girl who hid the skirts of my Mother or Ami-chan, Rei-chan, Mako-chan, and Minako-chan.

I believe her now.

Mamo-chan has the eyes of glass. When you look directly into them, you see your reflection. He looks up in the sky and his eyes glitter gold and silver magnificently. Gold mirroring the Sun and Silver shimmering of the Moon's glow were always in his eyes. The exuberant eyes that I fell in love with were beginning to grow dull and listless with the long fatigue of a weary life. Full of sadness, loss and unshed tears. Mamo-chan's eyes of glass.

Seiya-kun. She had a heart of ice, arrogance and pain that is never black or white. When she stood in front of the class with Taiki-kun and Yaten-kun, posing as students and the pop group The Three Lights, she winked at me. I grimaced at her fulsome stare and shuddered at her flirtatious ways with Michiru-san, which made her a worthy foe in the contentious eyes of Haruka-san. Of course, I never thought more about Seiya-kun's disgusting façade that facilitated her with her low self-esteem, but somehow I think she knew.

In a matter of days, a compromise had been made. In Mamo-chan's absence, Seiya-kun soon became an unrequited love and a dear friend close to my heart.

But now, the only hearts that have conquered mine are Mamo-chan's and Seiya-kun's. Their masks and essences of who they were transformed into the eyes of glass and hearts of ice enclosed in the petals of roses.
