Percy was exhausted.
He had been dancing with girl after girl, well, he is a king, so he has to find a suitor.
"Your majesty?" Asked the latest girl that he was currently dancing with.
"Oh, um, I'm fine, uhmm...?"
"Rachel Elizabeth Dare, sir." She replied.
"Right, Rachel, well, thanks for the dance." He said retreating to the punch bowl. 'Phew' he though, 'I'm sick of dancing'. He was broken out of his thoughts by a man.
"Sir I would like to introduce my daughter, Annabeth Chase." The young blonde curtsied, holding a notebook in her hands...? There was three words written on there
'Hello your majesty.'
Confused, he wrote back,
'Good day ma'am, may I ask what the note books for.'
She didn't reply, she only silently shook her head and scribbled on a page.
'Not yet sir.'The page said.
'Well would you like to dance then Annabeth?' He wrote.
She nodded, as he took her hand, and they began to dance. Oddly enough, she was still clutching her note book to her side with her elbow, while her other hand rested on his shoulder. After a song they retreated back to the bowl of punch.
'Thank you sir, for the dance' she wrote to him.
'No problem Annabeth, anyways, it's the most fun I have had all night,' he wrote back.
'Really?' She wrote.
'Really.' He replied on paper. She grinned at him, and it was then he realized how beautiful she was. Her blond curly hair was falling out of her bun around her face, her grey eyes were the most gorgeous eyes he had ever seen. Her dark purple dress fit her body perfectly, he could all but stare.
'Sir?' She asked.
He just smiled, and then wrote,
'Will you tell me now why you won't talk?'
'Sir, I'm deaf.' She wrote with her eyes downcast.
'Really?' He wrote. She just nodded solemnly.
'Well,' he wrote, 'Your still beautiful Annabeth, and even if you can't hear me, people care for you, especially me.'
'Really?' She asked.
'Really.'
