Disc. These characters aren't mine. If they were, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction...
Pleeease review. I'm still new at this and would like to know how I did =/ Plus this was just something really quick I wrote on the bus so I'd like to know if people actually enjoyed it.
He wrapped his arms firmly around her petite frame, holding her closely. Almost as close as to feel their two hearts beating as one. All the while, Catherine's arms strayed further up around Gil's neck.
Manoeuvring her slowly around the floor of the living room to the gentle Blues flowing from her stereo system, he nuzzled her strawberry blonde locks, in the process taking in her unique scent and whispered, "Cath?"
He heard a small, contented sigh escape the lips that were so close to his ear and then the small voice accompanying it:
"Yes Gil?" it responded. Lightly trailing one hand up the length of her back, Gil shifted some of her soft curls to expose the area of flesh behind her ear that he so loved to touch, considering the reaction he received when he did so, and leaned in to ever so gently brush his lips against it, voicing words of love to follow his actions.
She seemed to draw herself closer, if that was possible, and he heard her quiet reply: "I love you too, Gil." In doing so, she repeated the same actions as he just had, planting the softest of kisses as high as she could reach on his neck near his ear. He withdrew himself from her in the slightest in order to see the eyes that he so often immersed himself in. Despite the dim light in the room, he could still see the sparkle in those eyes and found that he was losing himself again.
Watching the rush of emotion pass over his features, Catherine's lips began to curve into a small smile. Unable to resist, he closed the short distance between them and placed his lips softly on the corner of her smile, whispering, "marry me" into the kiss.
Her eyes slipped closed and her smile widened as she let his proposal sink in and cause her heart to dance around in her chest. Kissing him tenderly, she softly replied, "Thought you were never going to ask, Bugman."
Pulling back but still only inches from her face, he returned the loving smile.
"Is that a yes?"
She drew the corner of her bottom lip between her teeth, still smiling to keep him in suspense for what he was already sure was an affirmative response.
"Of course it's a yes. A butterfly needs a bugman to look after her," Catherine confirmed, leaning in to steal another kiss but Gil hesitated, looking at his now fiancée thoughtfully.
"Technically a butterfly isn't a bug though Cath…The-" he was about to continue with his scientific explanation but was cut off by Catherine's lips on his own.
"Don't spoil it Gil," she whispered before backing away slowly. She tried not to show her amusement at Gil's now panicked expression.
"I just did, didn't I?" he asked almost disappointedly.
Catherine stopped in the doorway and examined the appearance of her future husband, suppressing a giggle. He looked like a small boy who had just been told he wasn't allowed to play with his trucks. Though Catherine knew Gil hadn't played with trucks as a boy, he was more of a… 'Whatever Cath,' she mentally scolded herself for letting her mind trail off and brought herself back to the present and the answer that Gil was worriedly awaiting.
"Only slightly," she began, observing how his shoulders slumped a little at her words and feeling her heart go out to him.
"But…" she continued, watching the hope form in Gil's eyes, which were now boring into hers, causing her to shiver involuntarily.
"…I'm giving you a chance to make it perfect again," Catherine finished, smirking as she left the room towards the bedroom that had quickly become 'theirs'. A giddy Gilbert Grissom closely followed behind her.
