Juliette and Me
She was in the couch, almost finishing her book "Juliette" of Marquis de Sade, something is just good enough when she is reading. She´s like absent, calm and soft if that last thing is possible to say. If I try, I can heard her breath, the only thing that tells me in which part is she, if it´s something interesting, excited or it´s just a simple chapter, but her eyes don´t stop reading, she almost never see to other way while she is with that book, I wonder how good is the Marquis de Sade…
She close the book, she finally finish it, was somehow quickly, it is the fourth time she reads it. Geez, I want that book.
"Axel" she said coming back to reality, the number 8 was behind the couch where she was sit, she didn´t even look at him, her face was…serious, a weird serious.
"What is it?" he asks with an indifferent expression.
"Burn this" she said and gives him the book.
"Do you know the magic world?" he said in a particular tone, I guess he was waiting some manners…maybe a "please"?
"NOW" was all she said, before Axel could do something stupid like burn the book, I took it off his hands.
"Why this dramatic decision number 12? You had always this book with you, why do you want to destroy it now?" I ask her, I was exploring the status of the book, was clean, perfectly conserve and it looks like new in fact, that didn´t surprise me, though.
"Because I´m tired of it" she said with a glare "It´s always the same, nothing change"
"It´s a book, what did you expect?" Axel said with a glare "It´s not a blog or something like that to have new information each time you see it" he said before go to other room.
She sighed, and I can´t blame her…
"If I´m not wrong" I said hesitating "What you were trying to say with 'the same' was that you don´t find anything different every time you read it" she looked at me a little surprise, so maybe I should continue. "You have been trying to find something that you might didn´t notice before, aren´t you?"
It was a silence before she nodded. Then I saw my opportunity.
"What about this" I said "Let me read this book and I´ll let you read my favorite one. I´ll make you know if there´s something 'hidden' there, something that you may didn´t notice."
"Well, that sounds good, but I ´m not sure if I want to read a book chosen by you" she said with an irritating tone "It will probably make me sleep before even open it".
"Maybe or maybe not" I said before looked her eyes. "So, we have a deal?"
"Okay" she said "But better chose a really good one or you´ll regret it."
